anything over 720 is billed as HD these days. Probably even less...I don't think there is any legal definition.

Well considering HD is a subjective term in the first place i dont think there is any real definition anyone has to follow. A dell 30" 2560x1600 isn't "Full HD" because it is 600x500 more then 1920x1080, does that make it worse? No Hell they could label it as HD if they want, i could also label 1600x900 as HD or 800x480 (modern smart phone display) as HD, it is misleading but no one is going to stop me really.
