Alienware Cases?

Hi All,

Has anyone found a place to buy the equivilant of the new Alienware cases. I saw one of these at Best Buy yesterday and I have to have one!

I don't think you'll be able to get the same exact case. Alienware first had the Chenming/Chieftec/Antec/Enermax whatever and now the whole country has one... which is bad for them if their computers look like your neighbor's computer. You could call Chenming to make you one just like that and they'll tell you you'll have to order a truckload... 😀
 
my bro called alienware, the CSR was very around the bush. he said he cant say whether or not you can get one but there is a "secret project" underway in regard to the case but he couldnt say anymore :Q
 
I have read, in several interviews/articles, that the "Predator" cases from Alienware will be sold and available only to people purchasing a computer from Alienware. The cases will not be available for third partys to resell. So, if you want the case, you need to drop some serious cash for the case, and get a free computer inside 😉

I examined one at best buy yesterday. Looks good from a distance, but once you get close you can see it has a cheap plastic bezel. They didn't even bother to trim the edges either, you can see the little flaps of plastic.
 
why would you want that case? I think the old type look better, and coolermaster/lian li cases are far better. If I needed a new case I would just buy the most gigantic tower that was all aluminum and add my own ps.

i personally dont care much for the case, but some people find it eye-catching and unique

Right. IMO, cases are a matter of opinion and personal taste. I have a Lian-Li and a SuperFlower. Basically both cases are fairly plain, but elegant (IMO). Personally, I don't like the Alienware "Predator" cases, but it isn't my place to knock what someone else wants, because it's their PC and thier money.

when I first saw these cases on their website, I just had to have one too. But then I saw one at best buy. These things are monsters, I'd have to enlarge my study to fit it, and that didn't even include the extra cable management system for the rear. This doesn't even include the fact that the plastic is really cheap and flimsy. I also noticed that all the fans they had running in this system was pretty loud. For me to hear a computer running in a store as loud as Best Buy isn't a good thing (though this last item can be fixed).
