Build your own system.
Read the motherboard manual, make sure you get good heatsink and good thermal paste (don't use tape).

Here are the specs.

P4 2.8
512 PC 3200
Radeon 9600 xt (I don't want to get a top of line card till HL2 and Doom3 come out)
120 GB SATA
Audigy 2
I already have a DVD burner and CD burner so no need to get those.
XP pro

Now that I look at the list again it does seem a bit excessive.:)

Can anyone build one that is more expensive? :D (think of it as the opposite of a Dell deal)

You were not really trying that hard were you?

$15,409.00 as low as $462/mo.*

Listen. Im not gonna say no and waste your time im gonna tell you why you shouldnt. Alienware is a company that builds "high end" computers. They waste your money on markup and profit. There is nothing high end or special about it. They use parts anyone can get and charge you an arm and a leg. They constantly score lower than other people and tend to have terrible customer service. If building a computer is not something your looking at, thats fine. I suggest overdrivepc.com or voodoopc.com You sound like you kinda know what you want but I warn you. DO NOT get more than a gig of memory and if possible (puts on flame retardent suit) DO NOT get an nvidia card. Dont get the intel 3.2 get an amd 64 or higher processor. They are faster than intel offerings. Hope this helps.

Thanks for taking the time to say why I shouldn't.

I completely disagree with that, and I am not talkin about in the literal sense either. Premades are for people who feel uncomfortable building their own, or are too lazy to make their own.

It is like going to a restaurant, why go when you can cook your own? Chances are you are either bad at cooking, or lazy, or just don't have the time. And why go to a 5 star restaurant when you can go to a cheap one? Same thing with choosing a PC vendor...people want quality (and for some reason don't feel like doing it themselves).

As for the original poster, I would not recommend Alienware because I feel their management is disgusting. I think their actual product is fairly good, but bad management = long build times, "the run around" when trying to get your system, and lastly their tech support is sub par IMO.
I go to cheap restaurants because they are cheap (read, inexpensive).

To answer your question, Desslok, no. Buy from ABS or Alienware is not worth it. I was in the same position as you were, besides the fact that I refused to pay $600-$1200 more than I needed to if I just built the PC myself. Look at my signature if you want a Alienware performance Intel computer, otherwise buy an Athlon FX 3200 and NEO mobo for the Alienware performance AMD PC! My Aspire alien case rules, its KICK ASS looking case that certainly can compete w/ buying a rip off Alienware PC.
Just ask if you want more specs for my Intel Alien PC.

ABS costs like $50 more than if you built it yourself and bought the parts from newegg... in fact they are the parent company of newegg...

if you don't feel like building.. buyabs...

Your possibly right, although it wouldnt be in Microsoft best interest to shut out nvidia as they are a mainstream mass producing graphics chip company, even if they have cut it short on DX9 pieces.

And as for nvidiots, wtf? I brought a ti4200 at the time, due to being a good overall card (yeah af/aa sucks but a lil mip-map modding and Voilá) and will continue buying the current best of generation, rather than a particular brand. So quit your silly name calling, just makes you look like you spend too much time in the marketing world.
