I know someone who owns an alienware 5620-D laptop, they brought it from ebay(over 1 year ago), but last week they decided to to a new version of the flash bios The only problem is, that they used the wrong bios file, now when the laptop is turned on this is what it looks like...

I can not figure out how to upload the pic here so heres a link to another forum that I posted this problem
http://hardware.mcse.ms/message129563.html

what can you do to reset the bios?

I have tried everything I know, Iam not to good with laptops

Updating the BIOS on anything is very risky if you don't know what you are doing and is not recommended unless you absolutely need to. Removing the CMOS battery won't do anything, whoever mentioned you might have to get a new motherboard I think is correct, there's nothing you can do if you don't even get a POST screen. Sorry dude, try and see if you can con one out of alienware but I doubt it unless it is still under some sort of warrenty. Good luck to you.

I recently tried to flash the BIOS on my friends desktop. It's an ASUS board and they have their own software for it. Turns out it completely erased the BIOS and never put any new instructions on it. The PC would light up, the fans would spin but nothing. We had to send in the BIOS chip so that they could reflash it. Removing the CMOS does absolutely nothing. I dont know what to do w/ a laptop, but your going to have to send it back in more than likely. Sry
