Aliens Vs Predator demo on Xbox 360 and PS3 now.

I didn't think the Predator was that good in deathmatch in the original game. You have to use stealth and strategy to win as a predator, but it is more than possible.

And the Marines in this game & the movies have far better weapons than Arnie did Plus in the game you *can* see the Predators as long as they're moving, it's just difficult to pinpoint them.

how do you shoot the triangular shaped beam? i pick it up, aim at someone but can't figure out how to shoot the damn thing?

Make sure you have it selected (d-pad) then you use one of the triggers to fire. The disc was RT.

I was in a game yesterday, where a guy was OWNING with the predator. He had a 15 kill streak at one time, and was demolishing with the shoulder gun thingie and the disc. I however, could never get used to the predator in the original, or this game.
One other complaint I have,.. the old game you used to be able to really jump and pounce far with the Aliens,.. I have yet to figure that out and make it an effective attack. Another thing I miss,,.. is starting out as a face hugger, then having to work your way up to the drones and other aliens.

That's a lot of things to 'miss' when all you've played is a demo... and a multiplayer only one at that. The full game will have a lot more to it.

Well I finally got into the demo. I'm getting the hang of the game play, but with no instructions it's a bit challenging.

I found the Sega forums for AvP(3) and there's some good stuff in there. Here's a thread with tips:

The biggest thing I found out from here is how to use Focus as a Pred or Alien. Hold the Focus button (LT on 360) and a targeting icon will appear. Aim it to where you want to go and press Jump (B on 360). You will leap there. If you use Focus to target an enemy and press the "Interact" button (X on 360), you will do a leap-attack. I'm psyched to try these out soon.

Having the attack controls be the L & R button on 360 is strange (Marine has normal RT for primary attack), with every other shooter game having them be the triggers. I kept trying to use the triggers when surprised by an enemy as the Alien.

Personally I can't wait to play the SP version. I'm trying to talk myself out of the Hunter edition, since I have some BBY gift card but they don't have it listed on their website...

So no one else is still playing this eh? I stopped playing the demo once I tried all three species, but my Hunter edition should be here Tuesday (right after my Monday off of course). I'm *REALLY* looking forward to the SP missions. Maybe I'll actually finish the Marines campaign this time...

Since the demo came out I've only been able to connect to 1 game - and I try to play more than once a day. Anybody else having this problem?

I had to try a few different times to connect.

I have a feeling that once people got a feel for the game, they stopped playing due to how much of a pain it is to get into the game and that you can't customize much of your playing experience. And it's only one level!

I just tried out the demo today, I didnt know it was out. I think its pretty fun, its definitely better on a console, it sucks ass on PC. Definitely looking forward to the full version with story mode and more MP modes.

I downloaded the demo on my PS3. I have yet to actually find a game. Nobody is ever playing when I want to try it. I guess I'll have to try it out on my 360.

I picked up the full game yesterday afternoon, and I gotta say its a home run!! I played all three different species, but fell in love with the predator. He by far is the most lethal in the game, and in multiplayer. I played some species team death match, then some Predator hunter,.. then finished off the Predator single player game off last night.
This game is so much like the original in so many ways, but so much better. In the species team death match, if the Predator can run and find his weapons really quick, the other species are screwed unless they work together and stay in groups. Like I suspected in the demo, the alien can't pounce really far and have a massive attack. I saw an option where you can turn on the growth cycle, I am assuming thats where you start out as a face hugger and work up,.. but in the games I played you start out as a regular alien.

Over all, great game and the game finding is much faster then the demo was. This game is more based for multiplayer, since each species single player is only good for 5 to 6 hours tops.

Yeah I've heard the SP campaign is really short, unfortunately. And no alien life cycle, which albeit was a small part, was still cool.

I'm still waiting on my Hunter edition. :/ BBY said it should ship in the next couple days and I've got Express shipping, so hopefully by mid-week at the latest...
