Alien vs Predator demo on Steam now

Demo apparently is DX9 only. I dont like it. Feels like a console port. Multiplayer is done by automated quick match and its already annoying.

This games multiplayer downfall will be the lack of dedicated servers, evidently Rebellion didn't opt to put them in unless something changes in the next 2 weeks. It'll probably be like the COOP component for WAW where there are only roughly 6-10 servers and getting on one will be hell unless your friends are on.

The single player and 4 player survivor COOP is what I'm in it for. Online Deathmatch has long since passed it's prime.

Downloading the demo now but I'm also disappointed it isn't a SP demo. Needless to say I won't be buying it until the price goes down to $30

The game will have dedicated servers, they made the announcement after the the uproar about MW2 not having dedicated servers. The demo just doesn't have dedicated server support built into it

Oh ya there's no disputing that AVP 1 and AVP 2 were really great. They've stuck to pretty much the same playing style even though monolith did the second game. That's probably just because it WORKS, and it's great. Put Space Marines, Aliens, and Predators into anything and it would be something great. I'm sure the single player for the new AVP will be good, and the visuals look like they're up to par with other PC titles. As I said before I have almost 0 interest in the multiplayer other than the COOP aspect.

The scary rush you get from being the only marine in a complex filled with aliens that could come out at you from any dark corner. Or the predator that could be behind you in a split second ready to take your hear off. Thats the kind of experience I'm hoping for in the new single player.

Well thats good at least, I only saw the articles that said no dedicated servers from 2 months ago. Glad to know they came to their senses

UPDATE: well installed the demo and just like everyone else I can't even get on a server, if there are any. I'll just wait and try again tomorrow I suppose.

Sensitivity is also adjusted on x/y axis. Usually this is only for games with vehicles, or consoles.

DX9 on the demo doesnt look good either.

I did. Then I played a round. And before I say it is shit, I've never played AVP, nor seen the movies, and have no idea what the hell is going on.

This is why I don't preorder games any more. Too many hyped games that look awesome and everyone says is awesome turn out to be crap. Last game I preordered was BF2 and it will be the last.

If I could actually join a damn game I'd give my opinion. Seems grim tho considering the matchmaking is broken. My friend who got into the game said he was very disappointed.

It took me many tries to even get a game and it seriously feels like the same game that we had before.

I downloaded the demo and can't even play it, I can't find anybody when I click quick match. This is gay shit.
