Depends on how you define alien.

If an alien is a being from a different planet, then no, God would not be an alien.

If an alien is an unfamiliar being, then yes, God could be considered and alien.

People believe we need a creator, yet do not explain who or what created the creator. If everything needs a creator, than the creator needs a creator. To simply say "he/it was always there" is absurd.

Time is more or less an illusion, so there's nothing absurd about that. The matter/energy that makes up this universe has always existed and always will -- information (in the physics/quantum/cosmological sense) cannot be destroyed. I would say that the "need" for a creator is a bit absurd, but I can't discount the possibility of one either.
