What's the purpose of these or are you Texans having too much free time? 1000's of patches within 50 miles radius, zoom out if need be.

They are irrigated by a system that rotates around a central water source - that's why they are round. Probably growing turf.

Clearly they're timers, once they all fill up, the world will end. Looks like we're getting close, which makes sense. Just a few more months until 2012.
