Alien Anthology - 4 films - Blu-ray - $36.50 + $2.98 shipping

* edit - the Amazon price has went to $66.99 - the price at Electronica Direct has been bumped up to $36.50 + $2.98 shipping.

Just picked this one up myself - love Alien and Aliens - and enjoy Alien3 even with its major flaws - Alien: Resurrection - not so much... I'll use that as a drink coaster....

Anywho - Amazon is offering a deal for the Blu-ray collection for these four films for $40.99 or you can buy from their link to Electronica Direct for $33.99 + $2.98 shipping, so you can save a bit of cash - made my purchase from them...

IT'S BUG HUNT, MAN!

LOL. I actually talked myself out of buying this last night for the $40, then saw this and convinced myself to get it at $33.99. Thanks! (dammit)

Nice catch for Bluray. Though I would consign the third movie to the core of the sun. Wooden spaceships! Idiot director showing off for his film school buddies. Aliens 4 was just too....European.... for most. Loved the 'reborn' Ripley though.

And congrats to the Biehn. My guilty pleasure is Navy Seals....

My copy was shipped today out of NY, so hopefully I'll have the set early next week.

Ya gotta love the Biehn! He was great in The Abyss and as Sheriff Hague in Planet Terror.

Thanks for the tip! I actually liked the fourth movie, despite it being kind of over the top. The first two are obviously great. The third one, which was my introduction to David Fincher, blows, but 3 out of 4 ain't bad . . .

I liked 3. It has that fincher twist going on and I thought it wrapped up well. I think its main flaws were the heavy reliance on early computer effects.

I didnt like 4 very much but i intend on revisiting it because Jean Pierre Jeunet is one of my favorite directors (delicatessen, city of lost children, amelie and the more recent micmacs)

Killing off the characters from Aliens was the biggest mistake. I think its an overall better movie than 4. 4 was fine up until that stupid alien hybrid baby thing. Just ruined the movie...

i thought 3 was fine IF it was the last one. It was supposed to be the last one. Sigourney Weaver was tired of it and wanted to move on with her career. They paid her a lot to come back for the fourth one.

I dont mind that world to continue but they should of let Ripley stay dead. The mistake was doing all that weird genetic crap in 4 but whatever let me watch it again and I will reassess how I feel about it.

The thing that kills Alien: Resurrection for me is that there's two different films battling each other - between Joss Whedon's script and Jean Pierre Jeunet direction...

I wouldn't be the first to notice that Whedon's A:R crew became his Firefly crew - Whedon's prototype.... and I can forgive many problems in any film - but there's a scene in the film after the outbreak of the aliens that I can not get over - when "our heroes" are shown just strolling through corridors as if it were just another day...

Hey, gang - you've got alien life-forms that seek to kill/mate with you...

Maybe you'd like to be a little more on the defense?

\the underwater scene was good...
\\and the reveal of the Ripley clones and their destruction...

Re: Aliens ordered through Amazon UK

Some people on H are saying they have gotten blurays that aren't working on US players. The copy I received was for regions A-C so would work on any players.

Thanks for the heads up. Mine is A-C too.
