I definitely want to see them in LA and possibly San Diego. Anyone else going to any of the dates?

LA - May 18
San Diego - May 19
Chicago - May 21
Boston - May 22
NYC - May 23

Presale for San Diego, Chicago, and Boston starts tomorrow if anyone is intersted. Go here to get a password to buy tickets. Tickets are will-call only, unfortunately, which makes me hesitant to buy. Does anyone know how hard it would be to change the name for pickup if I am unable to go? (Or if the price is right on ebay?)

what's will-call??

pick them up at the venue on the day of the event

AiC w/o Staley is like rain without water.

no sh!t. I think they are dishonoring him by calling it "Alice in Chains."

quit whining people. cantrell wrote 90% of AIC's material, and they all grieved extensively for layne. there's no disrespect here - only regret that layne can never tour again.

i'd rather see 3/4 of AIC than 0/4 of AIC.
I don't think they're disrespecting him, I just think it's a different band without him. It's not AiC.

Well then, I guess the asstard shouldn't have OD'd. :(

I think they are right in going out as AIC. ASAIK it is all the original members - stanley.

No kidding. How many bands have had to replace members in the past and still retained the same name? ACDC, Metallica (twice), Van Halen (three times), to name a few of the big ones.

EDIT: And while yes it is a tradegy that Staley will not be part of the lineup, AiC - Staley is better than no AiC at all. I am sure they will deal with the loss just fine and I hope I get tickets. I never got to see them live since I was too young (man would I have loved to see AiC opening for Metallica).

Damn, presale tickets for SD went fast! I was refreshing the ticketmaster page and by the time it came up and I got all the info in, it said there were no tickets available. Probably sold out in less than a minute. Now there's a bunch of tickets up on ebay for 2-800 dollars. Bastards. I hope they didn't sell out the entire show with presale tickets. I want another chance! I'm even more determined now to get LA tickets...

I absolutely love AiC, they are what I would determine to be one of the top 5 bands out of the 90's. And I hold no ill will towards them for touring with that name. Layne did not "make" the band, they were a unit, and Cantrell wrote most of the songs anyway. The above mentioned allusion to AC/DC was exactly what I was thinking. I'm just glad to have the chance to hear AiC's songs performed live once again. No D.C. dates, though :(

Honestly, what did you expect considering how small the venues are? GL with LA though. The Roxy is TINY.
