I definitely want to see them in LA and possibly San Diego. Anyone else going to any of the dates?

LA - May 18
San Diego - May 19
Chicago - May 21
Boston - May 22
NYC - May 23

Presale for San Diego, Chicago, and Boston starts tomorrow if anyone is intersted. Go here to get a password to buy tickets. Tickets are will-call only, unfortunately, which makes me hesitant to buy. Does anyone know how hard it would be to change the name for pickup if I am unable to go? (Or if the price is right on ebay?)

My guess is you'll have to go meet the buyer at the venue day of event to get the tickets.

no sh!t. I think they are dishonoring him by calling it "Alice in Chains."

quit whining people. cantrell wrote 90% of AIC's material, and they all grieved extensively for layne. there's no disrespect here - only regret that layne can never tour again.

i'd rather see 3/4 of AIC than 0/4 of AIC.

I don't think they're disrespecting him, I just think it's a different band without him. It's not AiC.

It's not that Jerry wrote the songs, it's that Layne's voice was the glue holding everything together in those songs.

The two complimented each other well vocally. It'll be interesting to see how they sound without Layne.

logically then, since Axl's voice was the glue holding Guns n' Roses together, it's cool that he's calling his new band GnR?

i'd much sooner support the "new" AIC than the new GnR.

should AC/DC have gotten a new name when Bon Scott died? should Van Halen have gotten a new name when DLR was replaced by Hagar? should INXS have switched names because Hutchinson strangled himself? should Killswitch Engage have gotten a new name because Jesse Leach left the band?

I don't support the "new" GnR. Yes, Axl should have changed the name...something like "Axl's Lame Attempt at a Comeback" or something. ;)

AC/DC replaced Bon Scott with Brian Johnson...who can sound eerily like Bon Scott.

Van Halen didn't change their name but it seems like everyone I knew called them Van Hagar after that. (Who's the blonde woman that ruined Van Halen? Sammy Hagar)

INXS is still around?

Killswitch Engage? No idea who they are

I might catch the Chicago show... it's just not going to be the same but any live AIC is better than nothing.
