I'd have to say it's a little bit more than suspicious that you know the details of her underwear alignment so well...

Even that flew over my head. I'll rewatch it for the sake of ___________ (what's that word that means catching all the details?)

[Yes, the REAL Francie has been dead (no way around this since AG Doren was confirmed her). The fake Francie is not confirmed DEAD... Vaughn merely stated Will was "OK" during the final scene.

Vaughn had to act with vagueness in mind since JJ Abrams wanted many possibilities... either to toy with us, or to toy with... come season 3.

I'm willing to bet that season 3 is mostly devoted to what has happened during the 2 years in question... how Syd ended up on the streets of HK with no recollection of the 2 years past. Has to have something to do with Sloane and The Telling machine, I bet.

But after all this, I'm questioning how Syd can lose consciousness after a fight light that. It's not like she did from loss of blood (possible glass impalement) because she lost it immediately after she shot Francie. Something's wrong with that plotline... cause she's been hit harder and more often before and ended up getting back on her feet to kill the assailants.

I would have to disagree with some comments. I think a shot to the head would have killed the real Francie. If the writers come back and say "it was never confirmed she was dead!" I'll be really upset. Playing the whole "what did you really see?" game gets annoying if you take it too far.

I don't think they'd actually take an entire season to tell you what happened to Sydney. Although I guess they could have each episode be like a few weeks/months of what happened in the meantime. The question is, was Sydney unconscious for two years? If so, this could be Garner's vacation, for real. She would need to be in any scenes. They just have to loop her sleeping.

Did Sydney actually lose consciousness? I don't remember if I actually saw her falling asleep after the fight. Maybe during the fight, Francie pricked her with the poison laced needle ring. Anyone want to write this down? I bet I'm right!
You could be right about the needle ring. I watched the ending again and she was fainting slowly (slow movements in her arms as she slid down with her back against the wall with her head finally falling and eyes shutting) after she shot Doren 3 times and dropped the gun.

BTW, one thing that we should all note. Sydney was wearing the same undershirt (you can see the left strap in both before-and-after scenes) but a different outer shirt. Does having the same underwear top tell us something? Watch it again,... it's blatant that they want us to see it... unless they just wanted to make her look sexy or something. 🙂

Hmmm...maybe she wasn't out for two years, then? Maybe the ring on his finger was part of a conspiracy against Sydney and he was in on it?

In the end scene with Vaughn, her shirt is sliding off on her left side, the right side is up against her neck. A wide top like that is supposed to reveal both shoulders, not just one. So it's strange to see just a strap on the left while the right side is completely covered.

Besides, I was looking for proof (aside from the healed scar they showed) that it was her 2 years later or not. It's easy to rewind an mpg and catch details. 😉

I am going to watch it again tonight.

BTW, I like your webpage. How much do you charge for work? I need to redesign mine. Can you do work that is NOT all flash and shockwave fancy? I like non-automotive looking sites.

I guess other things to consider (I have to get all the details since I'm picking apart JJ Abrams' work)... when Syd talked to Kendall on the phone after waking up, she said she didn't know how long she's been there... there was a lengthy silence. Is this Kendall thinking "wow she's alive after all this time" or is it "ok, she really has no recollection of what's going on" ? He asks, "you remember how to get there ?"

Vaughn walks in soon thereafter ASSUMING Syd has no recollection of what's going on. It's like he knows she has been unconscious and doesn't recall what has happened to her. YET, he states to her he thought she was dead. If he thought she was simply dead, why did he walk in there acting like she was supposed to be unaware of what's happened the last 2 years. And I don't believe this to be a case of Kendall simply telling Vaughn Syd had no idea of what's happened to her from the call he got.

To put it another way, Vaughn walked into that room like he KNEW she was clueless, not a Sydney who'd been caught/kidnapped/disappeared and he had lost her for 2 years until that point. There's something they're not telling her... something has happened to her and they don't want to tell her straight out just yet. This is why I'm thinking they will play it out longer than a few episodes into season 3. I don't think it was just meant as a cliffhanger to end the season.

Sure, I can do non-fancy stuff, no problem. 😉 Just PM me with details. 😀

Did anyone think that she was trying to take Doren's DNA from the saliva on the spoon? That was my initial reaction before Doren said "I forgot Francie doesn't like ___ flavored ice cream". I thought that was such a cop out interpretation. I wish she took the spoon to check the DNA match!

No actually, I thought she was going to shove the spoon down her throat right then and there... seriously.

You're kidding, right?

rh71 - Some more arguments against your points.

1. You are saying she is wearing the same undershirt from the fight night and then two years later? Could it be that she just wears this on a regular basis? I have three pairs of socks that say Polo on them. Where have I been for 2 years?!? 🙂

2. I have no clue what you are saying about the Vaughn or Kendell interaction

Kendell - Wow she's alive? Or Wow she has no recollection of what's going on? How are these even related? Wow she's alive - I get that. But the second one you mention...what is that supposed to mean? That "We know she's alive but I am so surprised she seems confused"? If that is the case, it means the CIA is part of her disappearance and maybe this is some big experiment. Kind of a catch, tag/drug, and release experiment. Now the subject is calling home and Kendell is thinking "Wow this project turned out funny. The subject does not remember anything." If that's the case I think you are WAY overstretching the bounds of interpretation here. I think "Wow she's alive?!?" makes more sense.

Vaughn - I don't follow what you are saying here. I don't think Vaughn acted at all like she was *supposed* to not know what was going on. He acted like a guy who thought his lover was dead and now is meeting her in HK safehouse 2 years later. I don't see any other interpretation. And of course he assumed she was clueless. What other option is there for someone who just woke up after being missing 2 years?

If Vaughn was acting like he missed her for 2 years, that wasn't the way to do it. He was not at all excited to see her. He seemed stressed and worried if anything. He talked to her as if he KNEW she had no idea where she had been. How does this tell you that Vaughn thought she had been missing/dead like he states to her? It's got to be a lie. Something has gone awry.

If I thought you have been missing or dead the last 2 years, upon seeing you again, I would not talk to you like you have missed out on something all this time. I wouldn't be asking you to sit down and hear me out. I would be questioning you instead. He didn't so much as ask her how she was feeling or where she just woke up and if she was hurt. His demeanor nor his initial reaction when he saw her indicated they were lost loves. Obviously he has a bomb to drop on her (and us as we're seeing it thru Syd's eyes)...

I don't actually know where JJ is going with this. It sure didn't feel very Kosher though. Not an OMIGOD there you are again... but I'm sorry I've just gotten married because I missed you so much and needed to fill a void... etc.

If I did know, I'd be all over the SD-1.com boards. 🙂 I'm merely stating inconsistencies for us to ponder.

I have a few thoughts 🙂

First, I think that Will and Alias were saved do to the rembaldy artifacts. Wasn't there supposed ot be somehting about them making you live forever in there somewhere or somehitng? Maybe that's how Sloan got Jack back as his partner.

Second, did anyone notice that Vaughn said he came back only to talk to her? So what's he been doing or who is he working for now?

Third, I think Irinia works for herself and no one else. And I bet that something happened to Alias for the past 2 years and she had her memory erased as well. But how no one even heard of her? well, they did think Irinia was gone for all those years as well, and if she was using Alias for somehitng....

Her name is Sydney, not Alias. 🙂

I think that he was talking to her like she missed out because that's what a person that is missing does, they miss out. Mind you, when I say miss out I mean on what's at hand, missing out of the CIA, operations etc. I am not referring to missing out her daily life. For all I know, Vaughn could assume that she was leading another life without remembering her past. The same way that children kidnapped at an early age do. I wanted to clear that part up. Again, not missing out like she was locked away but more with what happened with her former life.

Good point about dropping the bomb. He didn't act surprised, which is a bit weird, as you say. Could it be that he is in denial? Let's face it, if you lost me for two years, you'd be devastated. Then if I show up all of a sudden, maybe you wouldn't know where to begin!

he had moved on. he had a ring on his finger, he married someone else. syd even asks vaughn why he was wearing a ring right before he broke it to her that she'd been gone for 2 years. u even saw it when he reached to stroke his chin. he seemed to act pretty reasonably considering that.

anyways, they really don't cheap out on the action sequences in this show🙂 loved the jump off the building by derefco🙂 (sp)

i've played too much counterstrike, everytime i see gunfights now it reminds me of the game haha🙂 esp with those colt guns🙂

No no no no no... you have seen all the episodes of Alias right? When was the last time something strange was played straight up like that ? Never. This was the finale... it is not Vaughn settling on someone in less than 2 years. I don't care how much of a void he had to fill... That's not Alias at all...

Yep. Hell even that CIA top guy (the bald mofo) didn't even care when Sydney called - just asked her to go to the safe house. Vaughn showed up seemingly not too long after - they didn't say/tell the exact specific time but it made it seem like a very short wait. Kinda convenient that he'd be there in Hong Kong at the same moment Sydney "wakes up"

huh? they only say that vaughn was chosen to meet her, not that he was already there. its not clear whether he was in hk or flew there.

as for how many eps of alias i've seen, i've seen em all. i was in from the very beginning. i started taping shows before i knew it was any good, so i started watching it a few months in without missing a beat🙂 you also must know they changed the format of the show a little from season 1-2 with more self contained eps, less cliffhangerish. maybe they are changing back, with alias u expect to be surprised.

? They never said Vaughn was going to meet her there. That bald guy (I have a brain fart right now) said someone would meet her at the safe house, no one in particular, and asked if she still knew how/where the safe house was. What I was trying to say was to confirm rh71's point - it's not as cut and dry as it looks - the wedding band/getting married, Vaughn just conveniently happening to be in the same city as the one Sydney shows up in.

well not really, vaugn tells her that they called him back, whatever that means(guess he left government work) to meet her cuz he'd be the best person to break the info to her.
