Algore dispenses his wisdom

Explains how promising is geothermal heat extraction because "two kilometers or so down in most places there are these incredibly hot rocks, 'cause the interior of the earth is extremely hot, several million degrees, and the crust of the earth is hot ..."

Global warming has now been explained; the Earth is a crusted star.

Let us not forget that this man won a Nobel Peace Prize for his work with global warming.

Hey, he made a mistake on one fact. Every statement he makes is now false.

Care to name for me your three favorite leaders who have never made a wrong statement?

It is an embarrassing mistake for someone with such leadership on this to make.

But the right is wrong to turn it as they immediately do into far more than that as an attack.

Can you show anything wrong in the rest of that clip, his larger point about Geothermal energy?

No, you ignore the substance for the nit pick.

Algore is a hoot. And people worship this guy and join his cult? Really? He's not even smart or charismatic.

This tidbit from the article is excellent:

"It is approximately 4000°C at the centre of the Earth. To put this in context:

1. The centre of the Sun is approximately 15 million°C
2. The surface of the Sun is 5500°C
3. Iron melts at 1535°C (when at atmospheric pressure)
4. Water boils at 100°C (when at atmospheric pressure)
5. Human skin is comfortable with temperatures up to about 60°C
6. The highest temperature recorded on the Earth's surface is 58°C (Libya 1922)"

If Algore is the All-Knowing, All-Wise Oracle of the Earth, then he would surely know how absurd his statement was.

I find it very strange how little the left cares about what Al Gore says/does compared to the right. In fact, the only time I hear anything about Gore is when it's coming from a 'conservative'.

I do not believe tapping into geothermal on a global scale is a bright idea. We would be altering the heat and pressure of the planet’s core. Oh, it would be a small difference at first, but over hundreds or thousands of years there’s no predicting the consequences.

algore is a psychopathic liar. people in his home state know this and want nothing to do with him.

You guys realize he is just a mouth piece right? He's just a puppet for someone else. They want a popular face to spit their non-sense and he fits the bill.

You mean like pumping hundreds of millions of tons, every day, of CO2 into the air?

No one worships Al Gore. The Right has made him this symbol of their hatred for all things 'green' - it's quite sad really.

Al Gore was talking about environmental issues back in the 80's - when it wasn't 'in' to be doing so. It's something he's been interested in for 30+ years.

"OMG, he doesn't live in a tent with no electricity - he's a hypocrite!"

Would it really be a bad thing to lessen our reliance on our current forms of energy production?

Al gore owns a few companies who will get richer than the pope should cap and trade pass....

no it wouldn't, but have you tried building a nuclear power plant in the past 30 years?

solar simply isn't ready for large-scale applications. plus, you have to figure out what to do for the other 12 hours of the day.

Yes, clearly it is conservatives who are running out to buy indulgences and are making algore the world's first green billionaire. Just like those wacko fundie Creationists who gave him that Nobel whatzit.
