Quoted from IMDB...

I am surprised to see how much negativity there had been towards "Alexander."

Member "bizarre-lover1" wrote a review where he says that he heard from a Warner Bros. exec that a grass roots online campaign is underway to squash this film before it's release because of it's homosexual content.

I quickly checked on how many of those who had written the negative reviews had ever written a review on IMDB.com before....VERY FEW. I did not count numbers, but almost all of the negative reviews come from new members who have never written anything before...this all strikes me as odd.

First of all, those reviews could have easily been written from watching the trailer. Second, the new members have written remarkably similar comments. Third, according to IMDB the movie has not even had a wide release yet--the Hollywood premier happened on the 16th and the wider release is not scheduled until November 24th. How have people in Nashville and Florida seen the movie already? All this seems to suggest that these new members could all be false accounts set up by one or more people.

I am posting this thread in the hopes that it generates enough skepticism to get people to judge for themselves. We live in troubled times, my friends. THINK FOR YOURSELVES!

There was a show on the Discover channel about how Colin Farrell was preparing for the role. They taught him fighting styles, how to ride a horse, and the history of Alexander the Great. They even had a boot camp thing where they got him to lead extras through physical training for a few weeks. This was supposed to get his "troops" to look at him as a leader.

I realized the movie was probably going to suck while watching this show.

can't say i'm surprised, 95% of what comes out of hollywood is complete garbge now a days. independent/foreign/documentary is the way to go.

I'm still hoping and praying. I have tickets for tonights show, it starts at midnight, because it's thursday. So i'm gonna be with the first ni denmark to watch it.

I read a newspaper review,
they said the movie was Toooooooo long.

It?s a big misfire, a big bore, and a big fat waste of time.

same here,🙁
it should have been 5 mins longer, then the movie would have been a soild 3 Hours!!!!!

I wonder does it have an intermission???

I saw the movie yesterday, it was ok. The battle scences were good but not as good as LOTR. I will give this movie a 6.5 out of 10.

ugh i just came back from watching it.

there's no point in the movie. It's paced horribly, and there's not real plot. wtf was going on?
the narration and the scenes that took place was all placed horribly. all in all, it's one boring movie. they didn't even show his greatest battles. there were only 2 real battle scenes. the rest is talking you can't even distinguish.

ugh.

this isn't even worth a rental.

They died Colin's hair blonde in the movie, yet didn't do nothing about his dark Caterpillar like eybrows. He looks very odd.

saw it last night. it was so so, definately too long. No conflict nor resolution, just story telling and homos. Although the scene with Alexander mounted on his horse approaching the elephant in war was amazing.

15% on RT is terrible :

the people who are suing teh director for the lack of 'proof' clearly have not read any classical works (IE the Phaedrus)

From RottenTomatoes.com
0/4 "Towards the end of this movie, I wanted to kill Alexander just to get it over with and go home. Even Rosario Dawson?s supposedly stunning nudity was over-hyped."
-- Willie Waffle, WAFFLEMOVIES.COM

ouch, when even nudity doesn't do it.. that's terrible!

angelina jolie is enough reason to watch the movie

no
shes awful in it (though it should be no surprise, even anthony hopkins sucked in this) and shes still not attractive at all; there are a number of far prettier wimmin in this movie

you do, however, get to see rosario dawsons boobies
but only for a few seconds out of a 3 hour movie, so you quickly forget it and want to stab your eyes out in an attempt to end it...but you also dont want to miss the movie because you had to pay for it

the quote oogabooga put up says it all.....you *want* him to die, and it takes him far too long to do so.
