I am thrilled Alex Jones got pounded! I am sure his lawyers will try some sort of appeals.

But before we start holding victory parades, consider that the Conservative ninnies on various appeals courts could ultimately reduce the damages amount.

This is proof one cannot just go off and slander someone, lie and cheat to make money or drum up publicity. I hope this guy is financially wrecked and all who stand and support with such disgusting tactics understand that Free Speech has its limits.

<--the schadenfreude is strong in this one.

Well I said they should add a zero to the Texas verdict, but what they did was add a zero then multiply by 2.

I assume this is going to force Jones and his companies into Chapter 7.

PS: LOL I just read that plaintiffs' counsel only asked the jury to award $500 million. Ouch.

Now I'm curious just how hard the government will go after his assets.

Any predictions?

Sadly, I am going to bet this doesn't end his show.

Even sadder, I'm going to bet he maintains a lavish lifestyle through grift and deceit.

There must be some fans on here. Like what makes him so interesting to listen to. And why buy supplements from him? What makes him such a nutritional expert?

The alt-reality conspiracy subculture is the definition of a cult. It has many leaders and influencers.

The first thing a cult tells you is everyone is lying to you. Every expert. Especially doctors. The grift is to remove all expertise and replace yourself or your own experts and then sell sell sell.

When you go to Mercola's page or any alt med "doctor" page. The majority of information is not about their own products or services. The majority of information is misinformation and FUD programming you to disbelieve established medical experts.

These people market and sell through the conspiracy subculture.

This is how the GOP, alt-right and Qanonsense was able to absorb millions of granola, anti-vax hippy leftists. Virtually all of your crystal worshipping hippies are voting GOP now because the GOP pandered to their science denialism and feelings of persecution for their delusions.

I know all the gleeful schadenfreude is justly deserved, but I can't get past the double hell those families have gone through. There is no amount of money that is right. I am surprised no one has offed that guy and shut him up permanently.

Have to believe his behavior/attitude in person had a real negative impact in the jury's opinion. I mean, he was completely unapologetic about everything and came off as the real asshole he is.

The government is not responsible for enforcing civil judgments. It's the plaintiffs who must enforce the judgment. In that regard, they have a variety of tools: attaching bank accounts, liening real property, garnishing wages, etc. With no statute of limitations.

It really depends on how aggressive they want to be. I'm assuming here the plaintiff's attorneys are paid a percentage of what is recovered, so that is good incentive for them to be aggressive. But Jones and his companies are most likely going into Chapter 7, so the bankruptcy court is going to oversee this. The businesses will certainly have all their assets liquidated in that process.
