It was a total bitch.

First I used coolwebsearch but it found nothing:roll:

Then I used msconfig to disable everything and sth e computer went nuts.

Turns out that they had about a dozen trojans on the damn thing. If I loaded the PC with my CD (with adaware and stuff) it would lock the drive so I couldnt use it:Q mean bastards. Trend Micro housecall had found 4 trojans, but not all of the oens I found in the end:confused:

Anyways, then I used a2hijack free to check and edit the systems processes and run once settings plus to disable certain services

..and it goes on..

then adaware, spybot, I uninstaleld some of the stuff using add/remove and cleaned up their ashes manually, spybot and adaware again, ms anti..

..this was in safemode...

and then I had to do all of that AGAIN for each user as stuff was hiding in there for their regular logins...and no, it wasn't in the temp folders....

Needless to say it was a real bitch

<----only has Nortaona AV and MS antispyware on his PC and it is perfectly clean.

haha my work had a big infestation of Virtual Bouncer for a while... first few times it was a pain the remove, after that us techs had it down to 5-10 minutes per machine...

20,000 machines we were kinda experts at the end... hehe :)

you have to *pay them* for a "subscription" with a credit card to have it removed, then opt out of having the "subscription" automatically renewed.

In all seriousness, with all the mental instability in the world - take for example the kid who was killed for scamming on ebay a couple years back - how is it that people who develop this type of software are still alive?

would that uninstaller get rid of the add-on programs that it let through?

It let a LOT of stuff through

I was telling the client that in this day and age, it's even nieve to stop buying from companies that use advertisers such as these. It is coming from everywhere
