ok, i've never done this but i think it would work, heat some alcoholic beverage and have some metal plate with ice cubes above it, and the vapor that condenses on it should be all most pure alcohol, but it will evaporate at a low temp so you have to keep it cold
You can get 95% alcohol this way but no purer.
ethenol is 200%
BTW, Proof is twice the percentage. 100% alcohol = 200 proof.
Traditional vodka is 80 proof, 40% alcohol.
I've worked with 200 proof ethyl alcohol in the labs at room temperature. It is possible to achieve, but not commonly used.
Benzene is added to break the azeotrope and allow it to be distilled past 95%. It isn't safe to drink though.
