When I drink, for the first hour or so its great. Then I become tired. Very sleepy.
I am going out with my friends saturday and I need to be able to stay awake, but I will be drinking. We are having a small get together afterwards.
Anyone have this problem and remedy it? Coffee doesn't seem to help. Maybe something stronger?

Redbull + Vodka.

That is typical of alcohol. One of the reasons most bars have their music a bit louder than necessary.

Cocaine would certainly do the job. I would suggest the powdered kind. The crack kind will have you running to the bathroom every 5 minutes for more.
If money is an issue may I suggest methamphetamine? For far less money you can get a longer duration stimulant effect.
Of course, if you don't want to go the coke or meth route, you could always try not drinking.

Alcohol is a depressant, which means it lowers your heart rate. The other time your heart rate typically lowers is when you are resting or asleep. Pretty much the slower your heart gets, the more tired you get.

Redbull and vodka is great fun, but it's basically a heart attack in a glass. You are taking a depressant, alcohol, and combining it with a series of stimulants, caffeine, taurine and guarana. On paper, you would think that this would be fine; your heart goes faster because of the stimulants, but slower because of the alcohol, so it should all even out. In reality, the drugs affect your body at different rates, and this can lead to an extremely irregular heart rhythm. Combining drugs with completely opposite effects is almost always putting your body at unnecessary risk, and is worse for you than the sum of the parts.

That said, Redbull and vodka is an absolutely killer drink. It gets you fucked up but you're still lucid and alert (and it doesn't taste bad either). Don't overdo it.

I would try to get a lot of rest before you do out. Alcohol is a depressant and mixed with uppers is a bad idea. You can try to stay somewhat active while out also so you don't get tired.

I like to take a B complex vitamin before I go out for a night of drinking. It seems to help me.

Seriously, drink a few cups of coffee a few hours before you go out drinking. It works for me.
