Just started listening to 92.7 (Party!) here in the SF Bay Area (similar station to 103.1 in LA), and getting into that dance/club kind of music. Fun stuff, but I don't know the artists/titles yet.

Mark Eitzel - The Ugly american: (Indie rock/singer song-writer) Gorgeous album.. Indie rock veteran Mark Eitzel travels to Greece to reimagine many of his most popular songs with classical Greek musicians... It's an beautiful and unique album

Dave Mathew's Band - Bustes Stuff: (Pop/Rock) Not a new album but new to me... I never really liked DMB but this album has a nice, raw feel to it.

Justin Timberlake - Justified: (Pop) Don't laugh.. It's an incredibly well produced, poorly written album... The lyrics are inane but the beats and music are top notch. Great background music - groovy, funky, awesome Neptunes produced beats and smooth vocals... Sure, it's not "hip" and many idiots will poke fun at you - the same idiots who were listening to hair metal when Michael Jackson was changing the face of music in the 80s (BAD and THRILLER are amazing albums)...Very similar to vintage Michael Jack but with slicker, modern beats

Radiohead - Hail to the Thief: (Alternative) The best post-OK Computer radio head album.. Excellent lyrics, very interesting music, and nearly every track is a classic.. Get this album!

Ken - New Sacred Cow: (Pop, synth-pop) Awesome throw back to 80s synth pop yet very modern.... Produced by 1/2 of the Neptunes (Chad), this is one hell of a catchy, freaking cool album.. Not exactly new but just released on a major label

The Kill s- Keep on your mean side: (Garage Rock/Indie/Alternative) Great female fronted garage band.. Not as hip as the Yeah Yeahs but twice as dirty and gritty.. Great stuff

I'm looking into picking up a King Curtis CD here soon. I have a little Jazz play-along CD and book and he's on one of the tracks. Very cool.

I know they've been around for ages, but for some reason I just started listening to the goo goo dolls.

I just discovered Arch Enemy and was blown away by Angela Gossow's vocals. I never imagined a female could emit such fearsome growls! I'm in love! :)

Also, due to some sweet guitar playing by a friend, I have also started listening to Dave Matthews Band, a band I always considered to be "cookie-cutter pop" due to the overwhelming popularity amonst teenage girls in my high school. Now I realize Dave Matthews is really a fantastic musician and his songs are really fun to play!

Although I've been listening to them for a while, I've been getting really heavily into Mogwai lately. As for classical, I've fallen in love with Olivier Messaien. Turangalila Symphony kicks my ass everytime I listen to it.

See if you can get your hands on Jason's pre-Elektra albums, back from when he was a local boy here in San Diego. They're lightyears ahead of his new one, in my opinion.

Messaien? Ugh. Have you heard his "Kiss from the Baby Jesus?" You'd think the kid had poisonous fangs...

Yes I have, and I actually liked it. I'm the only person I know that does, of course.

Steel Train: Acoustic stuff.
Longwave: Indie pop
As Friends Rust: Hardcore awesomeness
The Beta Band: indie popishness

I've read some reviews that say rocket is a little over produced. That's the last CD that I bought. I would like to find some early stuff, but I don't feel like looking. :)

Brand New Immortals - Tragic Show
David Ryan Harris - David Ryan Harris

these were David Ryan Harris's 2 bands and his solo effort. if you've never heard of him, he's worked with Dave Matthew's Band, Carlos Santana, Mariah Carey, Edwin McCain, and is currently touring and recording with John Mayer.

you can listen some of his stuff here.

Well if you ever get around to it, get 'Live'. As the name says, it was recorded live at Java Joe's in Ocean Beach (his old weekly venue). It captures his old pre-contract style PERFECTLY.
And oh yeah, Rocket is INCREDIBLY over-produced. To a ridiculous degree.

I'm not too fond of Thrice (they sound too much like 15 year olds trying to sound hardcore) but FATA is awesome! Good taste :) Short Stories With Tragic Endings was one of the first songs I learned to play on my guitar.
