Ok I just got up and no problems so far, but does Intel provide a software for temp, voltage monitoring?

What BIOS are you using? Your board should come with a BIOS hardware monitor/PC Health section.

Yes I can see temp, volts and fan speeds in the bios setup screen.The board uses a Phoenix Award bios. The windows monitoring software Like MBM it what I have not figured out. There is some Winbond software on the cd but I'm not sure what its for.

Maybe I'm not explaining this right. I want to be able to see and check temps, fan speeds and voltages while at my Windows desktop.
By the way I really like your review of the board and ordered it the next day.

I running Samsung PC2700 and a P42.4 retail HSF @ 150fsb and 2.7gig cpu. The install was simple. I've only been up for 45min. but very good so far. Have not had time to tweak or test still installing my software.

I have this mobo too. MBM works when you get it setup and does what it needs to do.

I love this mobo...2.26Ghz P4 running on a 158Mhz FSB at DDR421 with Corsair XMS3200

I´ve not installed my 845 PEV yet, so I don`t know if there`s a program coming with it. But you could try a program from another manufacturer (make sure it supports the chipset).
Just to try it out, I installed PC Alert 4(MSI) on my Abit rig and it works !It shows the same numbers as Abit HWDoctor. You could give that a try.

The Anandtech review of this board was favorable, but mentioned some problems with the layout. I think there was supposed to be some obstruction of the AGP slot and PCI slot 1. Did any of you find this to be a problem?

Aside from the normal obstruction you have with modern video card heatsink/fans you mean? :)

PCI slot 1 is barely usable with my MSI GF4 - 4400 installed. I could probably fit a card in there if I absolutely had to, but it would be a very tight fit and would require a good deal of bending. Since I don't use more than 2 of my PCI slots right now, this isn't much of an issue for me.

The layout issues mentioned in the review are defintely present, just so you know. The ATX connector is in an annoying spot right in the middle of the front of the board and the IDE and floppy connectors are lower than I wish they were. That was the biggest headache for me when I put this system together: take the placement of the connectors, add the insane length of all GF4 4400 cards, and then add the way hard drives are mounted in any of the Antec/Chieftec type cases = major IDE cable crunching and folding. Even with the rounded cables I used, it was NOT easy to get everything attached and routed for good airflow. I managed, but it wasn't exactly fun.

Still, it's a good board as it has excellent memory options/performance as well as the usual good overclocking performance of all the 845PE chip MB's. For the price you can find it for (I got mine for ~$93 shipped last month) it's a good choice. Hope that helps you out.

I'm looking at getting the Albatron PX845PE PRO IIS which has the Promise raid, Intel 100 NIC, sound and the PCB is Silver! :) Hope to see it Friday!

Any OC'n tips?? I've got a Gig of Corsair Xtreme PC2700 Cas2 I'll be working with!

Cas2 ? T1 ? I've got the same setup but with the Corsair Xtreme PC2700 Cas2 memory.... my "silver" Albatron is due in tomorrow :)

MBM works fine on my board.

No problem using the first PCI slot with an ATA/100 controller card in it and a Radeon 7200 in the AGP slot...

Once you get this new Silver Albatron board I want to hear about it, I've gotta order a new CPU/Mobo combo on Monday, and I'm really leaning towards this board. :D

Thanks! That's just what I was looking for. As a newbie, I'm more interested in ease of assembly than overclocking. So far I've had little experience under the hood... I guess I've installed ram, a CD-RW and a hard drive. Now I'm thinking about putting together my first system. I think this Albatron looks like a great board for the price.

Its a great board its not feature laidened but it is providing me with exellent speed and stablity. Albatron has posted a new bios it may come pre installed on your new board. If you decide to pick one up let us know how it goes and the revision you get.

Got my new Millennium SILVER Albatron PX845PE ProII motherboard today.

It has 1 IDE RAID connection and 1 Serial ATA connection (Reading the manual it looks to me like it WILL support Serial ATA RAID 0 and 1). Its a promis FastTrak 376 controller but I can't find any info on promise technology's site about it.
My CPU is due in tomorrow! :(
BOARD LOOKS REALLY SWEET!!!


I do NOT see a revision anywhere on the board.

I've been running SCSI raid and the last IDE RAID I ran was on a KT7A which had 2 IDE RAID ports. This has only ONE! Not sure if I have to have 1 IDE HD as the Master and the 2nd as the SLAVE or if they both need to be masters. This is NOT in the Promise manaul that comes with the mobo either.

The mobo manual is very good and they baby is FULL of features! Especially for ONLY $124 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a deal!!!

Can someone post a link to a thread or review showing info. on overclocking this baby! I've been using RDRAM and SCSI and am not 100% sure on how to set this thing up for optimal performance!!!

That looks sweet.... I almost bought the non-silver version of this board for $139 somewhere else... whew... glad i didn't make that mistake! I wonder if silver really does help the thermal output like they say?...

Well i'm not happy.

I bought 2 WD 80G 8M cache hard drives and CAN NOT USE THEM IN RAID on this motherboard.

The ONE IDE Raid port ONLY supports 1 parallel HD!! The Promise fasttrak 376 manual says it supports from 1-3 drives, 2 SATA and 1 Parellel ATA!!

Maybe I just missed it but who would have thought!! You can't RAID this mobo because you can NOT BUY SATA drives!!!

Still a nice board but not as nice now! :( (Unitl SATA comes out!! Then there is only 1 SATA connection so I'm not sure how you'd connect 2 SATA drives!????)

Will post back with OC results when I get to it!!
