I think I might just buy the Albatron AGP 6600 GT when goes up for sale at GameVE tomorrow. This guy is supposed to use 2.0ns BGA memory (at least according to Digitimes), which is what I think the Gainward model is slated to use. Anybody else have an Albatron branded card, or have you ordered from GameVE? How's your experience been? This card has a 3 yr warranty, and I figure I'll have a new card by then. The main reason I'm choosing it over the current XFX and BFG models is the fact that it includes an HDTV dongle. Your thoughts, please?

I couldn't find anything on the gainward website about the 6600 GT AGP, but their "golden sample glh" edition of the PCI-E 6600 GT has 1.6 ns Memory with gpu/ram clock speeds of 540/1150 MHz! Perhaps they might release a 6600 GT AGP "golden sample" edition or whatever, sorry this wasn't too releated to gameVE or albatron, but maybe you should wait til gainward comes out with their version??

Wtf is gainward thinking with those prices, 100 euro's is $130 usd for slightly faster core/mem.

yeah, I saw that gainward card a while ago, I never new they were trying to charge that much for it. Isn't that like the same price as the 6800GT? What a rip off. I'll stick with BFG, who overclocks their cards for free. Their $200 MSRP card runs at 525/1050 for both the PCIe and AGP version.

I was actually talking about this Gainward, and not the Golden Sample (that price is just insane). I think this version is supposed to use 2.0ns memory, and it should be in the $200 range. I emailed Albatron, and a guy said he didn't have any info for their AGP 6600 GT, so I think I'll wait until Newegg or Zipzoomfly gets them or the Gainward cards in to make sure they have an HDTV dongle. Thanks for the replies.

The heatsink on it looks really cool! I can't wait till more come out especially from MSI and EVGA. If they do I'm buying one from Newegg!

Anybody know when more of the 6600 GT will be available? I was thinking to get 9800 pro, but I guess GT is better. I like the XFX, but I think once other cards are available price will go down.
What is HDTV dongle mdahc?

What is HDTV dongle mdahc?

The HDTV dongle allows you to "properly" export high definition video, like WMVHD, from your system to an HDTV with HD component inputs. You're supposed to be able to do this with an nVIDIA card's DVI port with the latest Forceware drivers, but I haven't heard of a lot of people having much success. I have an HDTV, and I just use my Radeon 9700 Pro's HDTV adapter to watch DVD's in progressive scan (i.e. 852x480p), but if you're really into games, you can play them on an HDTV (if you have an HDTV dongle/adapter for your graphics card) using custom timings set by nVIDIA's or ATI's drivers so that you don't get over/underscan.
