what are the rest of your system specs?

my pevpro has no probs going over 166fsb, just took a lil tweaking. :)

Sem, what we really need to know is what cpu & memory you're running, and if you were able to run a higher OC on your previous mobo? Also, what ratio are you running at for FSB/mem - 1:1, 3:4, 4:5? 158 FSB really isn't too shabby. :)

I have the same problem as Sem.
I must shutdown instead of reseting from winXP .When I reset I get a cold boot.
I also cannot get above 156FSB.I tried all 3 bios versions also.If I go above 156FSB it fails and resets the bios to defaults.
It seems odd that the cpu would hit it's limit at 1.54vcore.I know it would do 161FSB in my AbitBD7Raid II previously.

Maybe it the 2 memory sticks holding it back but I tried memory at the lowest setting(1:1or 2x for ~312-322mhz).I am happy with it but it seems like it should be able to go higher FSB.
Any help is greatly appreciated.Thank you

System Specs
P4-2.4B @156FSB=2.8Ghz at 1.54v core real (1.6v bios) ,temps ~30-35deg
Corsair 256 pc3000,Corsair 256 pc3200, at 416Mhz(cas2.5,7,3,3) 2.66X setting in bios
Albatron 845PE pro
Creative Audigy
Geforce4 4400

I tried the memtest86 and no errors at 416mhz.
My memory looks good.
Also I have run prime95 for hours at 156FSB(memory at 416mhz) with no errors and many games and other benchmarks and it is very stable. But 1mhz more to 157FSB it won't post and resets to defaults in bios.

Sem and Kyuss, you're experiencing what many others are - cold boot issues with the i845PE chipset when OC'ing. It's not limited to the Albatron boards. People with Asus and Abit are having the same probs. Not everyone mind you, but it's fairly common and no one has been able to pinpoint a specific cause yet.

doh i cant belive i didnt say what cpu ram i have
well i have a P4 2.53 and 512mb corsair pc3500
i managed to reach 160fsb with my asus P4S8X i couldnt test it any higher because 160 is the max FSB that board will go
anyway ive given up on this board and i am going to return it for a IT7-Max2
