FYI... Murkowski got TROUNCED in the primary. He came in a very distant third. Also interesting to note, there were about 40k votes for the Dem ballot and about 90k for the Rep ballot.

Should be an interesting race this fall. The former two-term governor vs. the sexy soccer mom.
 
well, here at college whenever they have a vote for class president or stuff most of the guys just vote for the hottest chick, so if these are the same people voting in Alaska then the race is already over 😛.
 
But isn't Murkowski's loss just going to embolden Al Qaeda (and the terrorists) by sending them the wrong message (that it's somehow good to change horses in a time of war)? 😕

Alaska > US When it comes to ignoring that kind of BS. 😛 (In this election it wasn't terrorism it was the proposed gas pipeline - but same thing. Frank told us all, "Vote for me or the gas line will fail and then it's DOOM ON YOU!!!")

Also, if anyone is interested, we have a private jet for sale. Hahaha.

I've resided in Alaska for over 10 years, years ago, ...so the subject of this thread naturally interested me. I was there during the time Jay Hammond, a popular and well loved Governor, sat in Juneau. Later, ...he sat in a cabin for many years in the Alaskan wilderness.

After him, we got a slew of oil-elected leaders in Alaska. Oily folks who lick the grease off the boots of the Oil Corporations.

Murkowski and Ted Stevens are career government agents of the Special Interests.

It's tough, in a State brimming with oil, and believe me, they have hardly even scratched even 1% of the total reserves there, ...to have a truely genuine self governing situation.

The past 100 years, Oil has been (and still is) the main commodity used to create the wealth of the power monger meglamaniacs of our world. They see representative government as a threat to their monopoly on power.

"Do no evil" is a good personal anthem to have. I hope the future Alaska Governor sings that tune. Representative Government by the people for the people is what's good.

Recently, Murkowski has been singing the same oily dirge the Oil Men sing, who want to sloppily exploit the Noth Slope and Arctic Wildlife Refuge under GWB's new sloppy environmental rules. Result: a pure and prime region trashed by greed. A fast buck. They do the same thing to the world's forest reserves. A State Governor's job is to preserve the resource for the good of the people there effected most.

At Rice, nobody gives a damn about the student president so whoever has the most friends that they can convince to actually vote gets the resume line . . . .

Haha, at my college we have a tradition of banging our silverware on our plates whenever someone tries to make an announcement at a meal (and then shouting "what?!" when they give up). There was a girl got up to give her bid for our votes, we drowned her out, but when we shouted what she started over. She tried three times and then left in tears. Oh well.
