I ordered a new Alaskan coffee called Alaskan Wood from the Pipeline Coffee website at http://www.pipelinecoffee.com . It is great and in tune with the site description "This product uses birch wood to smoke the great Pipeline Coffee bean taste you have come to know into a rich and dark roasted coffee. Try this and you will never drink coffee the same again." Smoked coffee sure is a neat option.

It may be a neat option, but I sure can't smell the hot deal. (No pun intended)

And what if I find a piece of bark in my coffee? :Q

What we need to know is why this is a hot deal otherwise it looks as though you own the website and are trying to get some free advertising... which isn't allowed. Please post price per lb.

BTW I assume you realise that all coffee is roasted in some way or another?

There are a lot of nice coffees out there for anyone willing to pay $11.50/lb. Peet's Coffee is among the best Internet stores.

Yeah and at a little more Gevalia is def better than either Peets or Starbucks. And they have those great deals to go along w/ first orders!

And it's because of tools like you guys that she won't post again for another four years.

Good job.

Personally, I think unique and interesting products are hot deals, especially when the price isn't *that* outrageous. It's not like she's spamming for cell phone accessories or something.

Agree! I often visit unknown small town restaurants, and usually pleasantly surprised. Got to try this coffe out, could be a hot deal.

I remember posting a similar (but more "hot") coffee deal on FW. The mods roasted me and locked my thread. I wasn't too happy I can tell ya.

When I looked at this thread I had to check the OP's location to make sure it wasn't Alaska because it was written like spam. Sorry, but this is not a good post IMHO, and I said so. I am but a single voice tho, and I don't mean to be unfair.

FWIW I roast my own coffee. I use this roaster and I buy my green coffee beans here.

A few years back I took a trip to Brazil where some friends and I bought a lot of green coffee beens. There was a lady there in her 80's who learned how to slow-roast the beans from her parents who worked on the coffee plantations in Africa. She slow-roasted these beans over an open smokey fire for us and it was the best coffee I've ever had. Very smooth with a smokey after-taste. If this coffee is half as good as that was, it will be a very good tasting coffee.

Ok now, just how much better is this coffee vs what I can get at Taget for $2.24 per Lb? I usually buy the Eight o clock brand of 100 % columbian whole bean coffee and grind it myself. I have found this to be a good everyday coffee at a resonable price and so has Consumer Reports magazine.

If your information is true, the entire post was deceptive and more than locking may be warranted. I, for one, appreciate your "forensic" work, since I often check out recommended deals.
