Alaskans don't generally like the Federal government telling them what to do. Back during the prohibition era, the only way into Cordova was by boat. The grandmother of my friend's wife lived there at the time, and when the revenuers (SP?) boat was seen coming in, everyone in the town, including the sheriff, went down to the beach and shot at the boat until they left.

I suspect the percentage of Alaskans that would vote to legalize marijuana is not nearly as high as pro-marijuana advocates think. It would require a high degree of voter apathy on the part of those that do not want marijuana legalized for it to become legal again.
