God Microprose brings me back to my 8088 days playing Silent Service....That game absolutely Rocked, and was the first game I actually got my father into with me....stayed up til 4am one morning trying to sink a carrier and its escorts.

Rest in Cyber-Peace Microprose!

Kennedy Approach - so addicting back in the 80s. Silent Service - another classic. Pirates - very, very addicting, Airborne Ranger, F-15 Strike Eagle, Gunship, Stealth Fighter, Railroad Tycoon and of course my favorite - Civ.

Anyone know if Sid Meier is still designing games? That guy was incredible.

Oh that's just great.

And I wonder why I'm caring less and less about the industry...

How could anyone forget MANTIS?! ;) :p :D

Yea, yea, it came with my Double Fusion LX "Multimedia" (2X CD-ROM, PAS-16 sound card) upgrade way back in the day, along with that very treasured copy of this game called "Civilization"... now that's a game I'll always have fond & vivid memories of. And on that note:

Thanks for the memories & good times MicroProse.

You ARE kidding, right?
Why would I kid about one of the greatest of all time?
I didn't mean to imply that he wasn't any good. He's awesome.
I think he's still working. SimGolf came out in January of this year.

OK, thanks for the info :) . I wasn't aware that he designed SimGolf. Hope he comes up with another great simulation along the lines of the Civ series.

Yup, they were the best back then: Gunship, Railroad Tycoon, Civilization, F19 Stealth Fighter, and Command HQ took up more of my time than I could hazzard a guess.

My first time playing Civilization was a 32 hour marathon! I quit when everything around me except the monitor turned black, at 2 in the afternoon during a nice sunny summer day!! :)

RIP Micropose, I'll never forget you. :(
