I hear good things about the Autopage RS900. Budget isn't a huge issue, but I don't want to spend more than I have to. I'd like a two way system, though.

I really wanted paint this year but I think I should make sure she doesn't get stolen before I make her look like something really worth stealing. :p Amazing how priorities shift...

I have one of those high end Viper systems. Talks both ways, remote start, hooked up to all doors, gas cap, hood, etc. Really nice but I still dont know if it was worth 400 bucks.
And it probably wouldnt do shit to an experienced thief anyway. I hear Lo-Jack is much better for actually preventing a theft and/or getting it back.

How much do you wanna spend?

$200 would be nice, $400 would be possible but I'd need a really good reason. It's easy enough to make the car undriveable (pulling the EFI relay takes seconds), but I'd like to deter people from breaking in (or catch them if they are). Plus, there's a shitty alarm in there now that's on its way out (I am hoping it's just the battery in the remote), so I can only lock the doors manually or it'll arm and I'm not sure if I can disarm it again...

I think most of my extra money was the remote start. Am pretty sure you can get the bi-direction communication with a 1 mile range in a 200 dollar model. Just make sure you keep your keychain by the nightstand so you know if someones messing with your car.
