Get an alarm that is supposed to "soothe" you awake--one that starts out barely audible and gradually increases over 2 minutes to the high volume.

That way the alarm never gets louder than it has to be to wake you up.

That's what I have - it used to wake my liek that when I got it, now, I don't wake until it hits full volume. 🙁

I hate heavy sleepers. When I had a roomate, he would never get up right when the alarm went off. It was always a minute or two, and then a few snoozes. God, just get up you lazy bastard.

Grab lip, pull over head, swallow.

Sleep with her....

Even if she was Anna Kournikova and she wanted me - I don't think it would happen 😛

My GF is like that. Snooze after snooze after snooze. She's breaking that habit, though. I've destroyed three alarm clocks already in fits of rage.

I don't sleep well at all. And I can never get back to sleep if I know an alarm is going off in 10 minutes.

Fscking up my sleep is one of the few things that makes me rage like a mad man.

ignore her, its not your problem. so she's inconvenienced for what... 2 minutes? she works a wierd schedule, she shouldn't be surprised there's noise.

There's a kind of foam you can buy from home depot that you shoot inside a wall to help soundproof a room.
I'm not sure how well it works, but it's worth a try.

Honestly though, it's not your problem.

Get a light alarm, it gradually brightens until you wake up. However, something tells me that soft light isn't going to rouse you, so you had better use a giant spotlight aimed at your face.

Rig your bed with one of those fence electrifiers. Set it up to turn on at w/e time. No noise, no problem. Well, maybe except for your screams.

I had a roommate like that in college... he had 8 am classes every morning too (meanwhile, my earliest class was at 2 pm, so I tried to sleep till noon). his alarm would go off at 7 am, every morning. then for the next hour it was a battle between him and his alarm. if he woke up enough to hit the snooze button, it was a small miracle. most mornings, though, he just slept right through, skipped his 8 am class, and his alarm shut itself off after an hour and a half.

I've always been good at waking up. I'm not necessarily a light sleeper, but I have a pretty good inner clock -- most days, I wake up 5-10 minutes before my alarm is set to go off.

as for the OP -- consider moving the alarm further away from the wall, and put something up behind it to dampen the sound in the direction of your neighbor. the vibrating cellphone is also a pretty good suggestion.

Funny how if the shoe was on the other foot - rb was being woken up by his neighbour's alarm - the responses would be, shall we say, shockingly different. 😉

Funny think is, I never hear her alarm. I never hear ANYTHING.

I feel sorry for you if the smoke alarm goes off.

I have no sympathy for people that will not awaken by a normal amount of noise.

If you didn't have a lock on your door, your butt could be dead,or all your stuff stolen, while you slept. 😉

Normally I wake up too easy;sometimes people will be talking in front of their homes,
after getting dropped off,and it will wake me up.

I use a radio alarm to wake up,and the volume is only at 3 of 10.

My GFs brother also has a hard time waking up. He purchased an alarm clock that for 15 seconds before going off it flashes a bright light (kinda like a flash on a camera). For some reason this wakes him up, even before the actual alarm goes off.

they make ones that either vibrate or make sound under the pillow. its a thin attachment or whatever. my old sony radio alarmclock had the option of the accessory. must be special order or something, i've never seen one.
