Alabama geometry teacher suspended for "best angles to assassinate Obama" lesson

You just can't make this stuff up! I don't know whether to cringe, or laugh at the stupidity, or both.

The teacher was apparently teaching his geometry students about parallel lines and angles, officials said. He used the example of where to stand and aim if shooting Obama.

"He was talking about angles and said, 'If you're in this building, you would need to take this angle to shoot the president,'" said Joseph Brown, a senior in the geometry class.

Well now that Jaime Escalante is dead someone has to take the creative approach in math. I eagerly anticipate the tv movie.

I wonder if the accounted for wind, gravity, temperature, and elevation. Otherwise this was a big waste of time.

Oh yeah....and probably a federal crime.

I thought when people hung Bush from trees it was protected political speech or satire? But I'll take the typical lib approach to this:

FAUX OUTRAGE!

Yes... Well when you find an example of an art teacher that made "Hanging bush piñatas" with the class that didn't get fired you let us know...

Being a ridiculous shock artist is one thing... using it to teach kids (or teenagers in this case) is not at all the same thing.

Wow.

Weren't the Obama haters all up in arms not too long ago about the PotUS having the nerve to address students? Where has the all the concern gone for politics affectting the well being of our students?
Instead the sock puppets deflect or pull the freedom of speech cop out *sigh*

Faux outrage indeed.

The real question is why a teacher would think bullets travel in straight lines. 😛
He shouldn't be teaching anyways if he thinks that.

Would have had to use my slide rule to calculate the angle from the grassy knoll.

The teacher is an idiot. And if you can't see why he was wrong, you are an idiot too.

Question: Did he ever mention Obama's name?
(Doesn't sound like it from the article, sounds like he just said "the president")

Which was and still is Obama at the time the lesson was given. That is a mighty fine little nit to be picking. This really is not appropriate no matter whether you like the current President or oppose him.

I was against it when it was Bush and I'm against it now. Fire the idiot, if he wants a human target make it a terrorist.

I am firmly in favor of free speech. I am also firmly in favor of consequences for being an ass hat with your free speech.
