Oh geez. So instead of having to take a side in an issue that could make you look hawkish against the radical goat-f*cking cave dwellers, you imply that the story is inaccurate.

That's nothing. See what happens when the Al-Qaeda talks about Obama's mama and grandmama.

< sarcasm >

Waiting for the inevitable bumper stickers:
  1. Our house negro > your sand negro.
< /sarcasm >

Note: I wouldn't go that far in a post if it weren't in direct response to their explicit use of the term.

Wait a god damn second here. I thought Obama was "palling around with terrorists?" You'd think, having elected a half-muslin African terrorist, the terrorists wouldn't be complaining. I thought they would greet their new liberator with sweets and handjobs! But nooooooo . . .

Muslim thing doesn't work for Obama. Why? Obama loves his pork (not talking about legistlative pork). Muslims don't eat pork.

Well I'm sorry if an accurate judgement of the situation is inconvenient for your political argument, but honestly I think this story sounds inaccurate.

In any case, if you had been posting here for more than 5 minutes (and weren't totally bound up in partisan bullshit) you might have noticed that I'm actually pretty hawkish when it comes to dealing with terrorism. I don't like how Bush has been going about it, but I want to deal with it just as much as you do, probably more.

Well, I think that the reason they dislike him is BECAUSE he wants to deviate from the path Bush has taken... They don't mind fighting in Iraq, as the whole Al-Qaida top is safe that way. Taking the war to Pakistan may mean AQ actually takes a heavy blow.

That was my point. Why would Al-Qaeda TELL Obama to deviate from Bush's path? If anything, they should want him to keep doing what Bush has been doing.

Why would they want that?
Because is has caused harm to our country and helped them with recruiting.

But certainly it's hurt them as well.

nope, Al-Queda did not spread to Iraq till after we started the war. GWB walked away from Afghanistan too early and the disease spread.

Is Obama a man or a mouse? Back in my kindergarten days, I would have joined the mouse consensus. As the prevailed conventional wisdom of five year old proto men demanded all insults be responded to with the proper punch in the nose. No matter how much resulting trouble backfired on me, honor demanded any jump off a cliff response.

I have grown up since, and I note that Al Zawahri can stand in a long line of people who have tried to get Obama to lose his cool. Hillary epic fail, McCain epic fail, all them swift boats, sunk before they can leave home port. Feeble try, Zawahiri, it does not even rate a gentleman's D.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, Obama is pragmatic, will not jump hyperspastically off any cliffs, and worse yet, he has that healthy Martin Luther King keep your eyes on the prize. And some Kennedy don't get mad, get even.

Bottom line, if I were Al-Zawahiri, I would start looking in the mirror and start peeing my pants, because I am the prize Obama is after.

Ever wonder why the smallest dogs always seem to bark the most? Pretty much the same principle...

Who knows how things will turn out in the end, but I hope you're right. My experience has been the guys you have to watch out for are the ones who DON'T spend all their time fronting off with everyone in sight, or trying to convince the world how big a stick they're swinging.

This has nothing to do with what AQ wants Obama to do or not to do. It's about creating hatred in the Muslim world toward Obama.

QFT:thumbsup:

OT, I sincerely worry for Obama's safety. The magnitude of hope he brings to those who wish him well has also brought an equal amount of hatred from those who feel threatened by his power to inspire and motivate.

Than an appointing a well know Jew as his first move didn't earn Obama any points.

I guess they figured if the DNC could use the word so could they

Awesome - Obama is the ideal figure for us in middle-east politics. Popular among moderates, capable of winning their hearts and minds, while hated by terrorists.
