alQ knows the credible threat scenario is infinitely more damaging then a detonation. They know the trouble any president would have trying to convince a populous that a credible threat is at hand. Fighting in the streets and civil unrest would ensue by those that don't believe the threat and would object to the near marshal law that would be imposed.

Not to discount the threat, but these "watchdog" groups, domestic and international alike, have a rotten history of predicting these capabilities.

From what I've heard "dirty bombs" aren't that dangerous. I'm sure the US and its allies are making serious efforts to get OBL. Why? It would be good for just about anyone's career.

Um, can you point me to the article about how we're negotiating with Al Qaida? And can you give your point by point analysis of how liberals are so ineffective at dealing with nuclear terrorism but conservatives are so much more effective? Give us specific examples.

Or is your sole point that liberal don't torture enough people?

Those darn liberals, disrupting the anti-proliferation efforts by exposing Valerie Plame, refusing to ratify the START treaty renewal for over a year for the worst sort of politics, pursuing an immoral and selfish set of policies that cause the creation of widespread enemies and anger aimed at the US and support for those who oppose the US...

If only Obama hadn't made his only policy to negotiate with Osama not to nuke the US. The Republicans are SO much better, the way they ignored all the Al Queda warnings...

It's not 'proven', but there are many suggestions from evidence and leaks that the Bush administration explicitly called off the imminent capture of Osama bin Laden at Tora Bora because is he were captured or killed, it would deflate the agenda they were using him for such as the invasion of Iraq. It also then helps explain Bush's bizarre shift from a very concentrated, massive hunt for bin Laden to saying that he didn't care much if bin Laden were caught, and gave him little thought.

Can't hang the war agenda on the capture of one guy that might happen - need an endless 'war on terror' to feed the machine and propaganda need to justify war.

It's not "proven", but there are many suggestions from evidence and statements that the Obama administration has purposely undermined border security efforts and pushed back-door amnesty because if the illegal immigrant problem were solved, it would deflate the agenda of building a poor, dependent-class voting block to ensure Democrat voter turnout for generations.

Only difference between my statement and yours is that mine is actually believable.
