Now I understand why Ashcroft sets up "free speech zones" around the pres and the administration... respect and time and place is lacking in america today so it's nessesary to even give a speech.

Besides free speech is'nt freedom from consequenses..

Well, among other things, it protects Ashcroft from the public so he can further push his own ideals without concern for those that he is supposed to serve: the American people.

Yeah, but the consequences shouldn't be a physical assault.

You guys ever see east asia parlimentry/congress assemblies? They regularly, particularly Tiawan, kick the crap of one another.:)

As I said freedom of speech is'nt freedom fom consequenses...I heard of assault and battery cases be dismissed because of using the "N" word and other choice words. I doubt Frankin will pay a dime, besides he has lawyers on retainer year round for double leg takedowns:D

A somewhat better story on the incident.
As Dean was addressing a crowd in Manchester, the fans of LaRouche -- who is something of an outcast in the Democratic Party for his extremist views -- began screaming that Dean is "a liar" and not a Democrat. They said the only candidates telling the truth are LaRouche and Sen. John Kerry, the apparent front-runner in the race.

The crowd began cheering "Howard Dean, Howard Dean," drowning out the LaRouche supporters as they were removed from the room.

Franken, a comedian and self-described liberal well-known for his attacks on the Bush administration and conservative-leaning media, helped carry out one of the disrupters. In the process, Franken's glasses were knocked off his face and broke in two.

Putting them back together with electrical tape, he quipped he had been "deputized" by Dean's security
I think I would have done the same, as would most of you if this had been your candidate. I don't see the problem here.

What's worser? Activly trying to ruin someones livlyhood for what they say (dixies/palme/any employer) or a simple, quick double/single leg takedown to remind you of proper human decorum? I know which i'd prefer even all the way back to growing up I prefered a quick swat to adjust my attitude than being grounded for even an hour..(this was before playstation tough:))

My my my my my my my. So when radio stations chose to stop playing Dixie Chicks records and people boycotted their CDs because of what they said, did you also chime in with "free speech is'nt freedom from consequenses" or did you call the radio stations neo-Nazis?

Just curious. ;)

The problem is obvious if your source is the New York Post.

Thanks for linking to a more credible story.

Gotcha. No, that's fine. :) So, where are people getting all this crap about "tackling?"

Guess FoxNEWS isn't the only cable news channel that's "fair and balanced", eh?
