I saw it on cbssports.com and it said there was something on the Raiders homepage. I went there and changed the link in my post.

RIP Al Davis. Made it hard to cheer for the Raiders for the past decade, but he definitely helped shape the NFL into what it is today. I will be at the game tomorrow, too.

I have been a Raiders fan for many years which is a difficult thing here in Denver. Al Davis was always hands on and was a micromanager, but he was not one of those owners who was in it for the prestige or status. I always admired his rebel stance.

The NFL lost a great man today. He did so much for the sport back in the 70-80s's

RIP Al. At least the Raiders will be out from under his enormous shadow and influence now. He was pretty much the reason for the downfall of that franchise.

In football, I root for the Oakland Raiders, because they hire castoffs, outlaws, malcontents and fuck ups. They have lots of penalties, fights, and paybacks, and because Al Davis told the rest of the pig NFL owners to go get fucked. Someday, the Raiders will be strong again and they will dip the ball in shit and shove it down the throats of the wholesome, shitty, heartland teams that pray together and don't deliver late hits.

RIP Al.

My question is who owns the team? If I am not mistaken his wife passed years ago. Did he have any children active with the team?

One of the best things that could happen to the Raiders. Maybe now, the new owners will hire a good coach and actually let him coach.
Al Davis always micro-managed the team, usually to its detriment.

Sorry to see someone die. But if you have a team so shitty, I would rather have no team than to have the Raiders back, you have to suck.
