So I got mine in today. They sound fine, but the pads are almost too soft. They feel great, but the speakers rest on my ears a bit. I'll just add some tubing to keep them off my ears. The good thing is they dont clamp down my head, so its more of an irritation than being uncomfortable. Otherwise, they sound pretty good.

After a little more use I can say more about them.

I came from years of listening to Sennheiser HD555 modded to HD595. So im used to open headphones.

So for example playing video games and talking in mumble to friends sounds weird to me cause I can barely hear myself talk now.

Music and Movies sound great, more bass than im used to but not too much like Beats.

Hearing notes/sounds I never noticed before in songs

After prolonged use they start to get a bit uncomfortable and your ear area sweats some.

Im happy with the buy and will use them for Music/Movies and im thinking i'll use my Sennheisers for games if I can't get used to using a Mic with them.

woot? There is very little bass on this AKG... Koss Porta Pro (which i just ordered from Massdrop too) has noticably more bass.

woot? I thought i am the only one 🙂

Thats funny you guys mention this, because I was listening to a piano playlist and I kept hearing this sound on most of the tracks. Its hard to describe...almost like a whisper or maybe something brushing up against a shopping bag. I've listened to this playlist maybe 50 times and never heard it before. So now I'm really listening to it, and it turns out its the pedal from the piano! Every time the person playing uses the pedal I can now hear it.

I put back on my Custom Ones and closed them down, and then I can faintly hear it, but thats only because I'm looking for it. The K553s are maybe a little too clear.

I guess we had our [strikesthrough]eyes[/strikesthrough] ears opened.
