i just got an axp 1500+ mobile off a forum that was a pull from a laptop, and i bought an AK35GTR mobo (kt333) off at forum, so far the computer boots, but i get no video signal, i switched the video card out, and the ram, and those are not the problem, the cpu runs at 1.45V so its not a power issue, my PSU is a 420W psu (came in my raidmax case). i also cleared the cmos.

is the cpu bad, i've had a simmilar problem about 2 summers ago with a palomino 1700+ that died, and the computer would turn on like this, but i'd get no video signal, and i was using a 400W psu at the time.

any comments?

one more thing to add, the board supports 1.45V as a voltage setting, so it should be able to handle the 1500+ shouldn't it?

i've even booted the machine with only the cpu plugged in and teh video card plugged in, no HD of CDrom plugged in, or ram plugged in

i'm not getting any beeps either

Not an expert, but guessing the bios can't handle the boot multiplier for the processor. I'd check for that.

Sounds to me like you bought a bad processor. A multiplier can't make you not have a video signal.:D

Well booting the machine w/o RAM will get you nowhere.

Myocardia is right, if the board couldn't handle the multi it'd boot it @ lower settings. The dead proc I had went in the same fashion I'm reading here.

Haha, are you speaking from first-hand experience? Anyway, I smoked a Palomino chip that way from too much voltage once. That's what always happen with a dead chip.

yeah so i ordered a duron 1.6ghz ($39 from newegg- shipped) to replace it. hopefully that is the problem, if its not, maybe its the psu, but i highly doubt it.

i'm just using this computer to serve files,

in it i have the os sitting a UW2 3channel raid 5 array with 128mb of cache with battery backup, 6X7200rpm scsi drives, and as sson as i get more money i'm going to get 4 200gb hds and a eide raid 5 card (probably adaptec)
