dgl,
From what I've read there is no anti-skip buffer. Many people report skipping problems when hitting bumps. Others have said that putting a backstrap on is essential to stop the skipping. On my sons truck that wasnt possible, but there is a bracket that the factory radio used that runs close under the radio, that may be bracing it up a bit. I test drove it and it didnt skip over normal to rough bumps.
Couple of other negatives I noticed in addition to what you said.
There is no dimmer for nightime driving.
The lights flash when you change the volume, it gets anoying after a while.
But it's hard to overide the "coolness" of being able to play mp3's, especially since the nearest competing product is more than twice as much.
