AIW Video Capture Differences

Noticed compusa has an AIW 128 (not pro) PCI for only $50 AR this week.

Is this the lowest price MPEG2 capable capture solution?

Looking at the ATI website I can't figure out what the difference is in video capture capability is among the

AIW 128
AIW 128 Pro
AIW Radeon PCI
AIW Radeon AGP
8500 DV.

All it says on there site is that each card supports MPEG2 which I guess is a good thing.

Not concerned with 3D capability, just video capture.

Thanks!

If you aren't concerned with 3d ability, then you should get the tv wonder or the tv wonder ve. You should be able to pick these up for 40-50 bucks. You can get the tv wonder ve at staples for 53, PM someplace cheap ~42-43 bucks, use 10 off 30 and get it pretty cheaply. If you can get some other stuff at the same time you may be able to use another coupon and get free shipping.

The AIW Radeon can do 720x480, whereas older AIWs (I'm not sure about the AIW Rage Pro 128, but definitely older than that) can only do 320x240. I believe the TV Wonders can also only do 320x240. The 8500DV is pretty much on par with the AIW Radeon in terms of video capture abilities. It deviates of course, in 3D power and the fact it has a remote control.
