Just use the newest beta drivers if you have an ALI chipset. You'll find a link somewhere on the ALI website. Otherwise, it's a simple install!

hehe....Nah, its not that bad now, but it wouldn't hurt to pray. I bought my AIW back in December of last year. It worked fine in Win98 with DX7. At first i had lots of problems in Win2k (completely borked video, unoperable TV Tuner), so i didn't boot back into Win2k for quite a while. Then when i updated to DX8, i couldn't get the TV Tuner to work at all in Win98. So i booted back to Win2k and got the latest DX7 MMC and drivers and it worked. But gaming performance was very bad in Win2k. Then Microsoft release a DX8 Digital Video patch that fixed the TV Tuner. I'm still using DX7 with old drivers and MMC in Win2k and i don't play any games in Win2k. Changing channels in Win2k seems laggy compared to Win98. Win98 gaming performance is adequate with an Athlon Classic at 770Mhz. Black and White will get very laggy sometimes, but Quake 3 runs pretty nice at 800x600x32. I'm disappointed by my overclocking ability also. I start getting artifacts in games at 172mhz......=/ But i've heard of people getting it up to 190mhz without visible artifacts.

oh ya, another mistake i made twice in a row with Win2k was installing the video drivers before installing the VIA 4 in 1 drivers. Win2k would not even load, so i had to format and reinstall. It took 2 times for me to figure out the driver install order on that lame sh1t.

I had it working on my last install though and I thought i did the same damn sh!t. I just got rid of win98 because I got it working under 2k.. stupid ATI assholes.. make some goddamn better drivers for win2k.. I know where thier headquarters in toronto are.. I'm gonna go and 'influence' them into 'working'..
