What is this card like?

AIW Radeon 7200 32m

I have a Matrox G400 max but its incompatable with my MSI K8N NEO2 Platinum motherboard. I'd like to upgrade to an AIW card like the ATI AIW 9600XT eventually but cannot afford it now. What is the AIW Radeon 7200 32m card like in general and in comparison to my G400?

I have a Matrox G450 in my old comp and AIW Radeon 7200 (for tv and multimedia) in my newer comp. I don't notice any difference in 2D quality and viewing DVD's is better with the Radeon cuz it has does some hardware aceleration.

But tv-out is definitely better with G400/450. Radeon 7200 tv-out only supports upto 800x600 and it has no Theater Mode (Matrox's DVDMax equivalent). And no dual monitor.
 
How does the 3D gaming performance of the AIW 7200 compare vs the Matrox G400?

I don't do gaming right now and probably won't do a whole lot in the future. I'll try the odd game, but if I have to set it lower resolution and lower colour bit depth, then thats fine. I can do without the dual-head features and won't use TV out for now.

What are the specs and details of the AIW 7200? How much should I pay for a used ATI AIW Radeon 7200 32 mb? Canadian $'s prefered but if you quote USD or BP # I can convert.

What are some other ATI AIW cards to consider? The cheaper the better. <$100 CAD 🙂

 
I'm not really a gamer except for the occasional game of Gunbound. But I'm pretty sure even the Radeon 7200 has better 3D than the G400.

I don't know about the 3D performance of other AIW cards so maybe someone else can help you there. But even the lowest I've seen for a AIW 9600 retail is $189 CAD. For <$100 you'll have to search on buy/sell forums or ebay and stuff. I assume you're Canadian? You could try the forum on www.redflagdeals.ca
 
Yep I'm in the GTA.Thanx. I found the AIW7200 on Premier Computer classified. You're right. Infonec has the AIW9600 for $189. The 9600XT is $245.00. So if I go ahead with the AIW Radeon I should definitely get it for less than $50.00 CAD then? So AIW Radeon and AIW Radeon 7200 are identical? If he's asking $80CAD what should I offer? $25.00? He's had it for sale for a while, at least two months and should know its going to be hard to sell.
