The only AIW models with FM tuner is AGP (AIW9600XT/pro). Leadtek makes a couple PCI tuners with FM/TV.

that's a tuner card though.. i wanted a decent video card/(tv/fm)tuner, but again it has to be pci

i guess the aiw series are the only cards like that?

thanks for responding!

If you're looking for the best gaming PCI video card with TV/tuner and such, then the AIW VE is pretty much it, only the AIW VE doesn't have an FM tuner. Here is a review of several PCI video cards in the gaming arena, including the AIW VE.

It's a little more expensive, but you could always go with a seperate USB TV/FM tuner like this one and go with a cheap, but fast PCI video card like the 9100 PCI. You wont find a better PCI video card for gaming.

Just a thought.

A few weeks ago the AIW VE was going for under $100 online, but it's now back to the $130 price tag that it had when it was first released.

Going with the USB TV/FM tuner and 9100 PCI would likely run you about $30-$40 more than the AIW VE costs, but with that route you get a much more capable PCI video card for gaming. Also, there might be other USB tuners by other brands that do not cost as much as the Hauppauge (don't know myself, as I have no experience with USB tuners).

Was your sister wanting to use her pc to watch TV on her monitor, or was she wanting to output the signal to a television set?

I doubt a VE would be faster than most onboard video, unless you have one of those old SiS boards.
