Exactly. I have a buddy with small kids - he's got his TV locked on the Cartoon Network. No need for kids to be watching this sort of thing.

Coalition forces are now "mopping up" this situation. To quote Fox news: "They've knocked the fight out of them" and we're now taking POWs.

What's the crap that I heard on Fox that is under investigation? Apparently, one of our troops (with a Muslim background) had some problems with the fighting? I guess we'll hear more as this progresses.

CNN sucks guys. Sorry to say it. If you want to know how the war is really going, watch CBC or the BBC. CNN is a huge propaganda machine.

CNN: WE are rolling through the Iraqi desert towards Bagdhad virtually unimpeded.

CBC + BBC: British and American troops are meeting much more resistance than they had anticipated. Very often units are left on the side of the road for over 3 hours while waiting for fuel. The war is not going as smoothly as planned at all.

Seriously, try watching a non-american network for some of the reports.

Here's another: Building hit?

well, considering that fire appeared about 5 minutes after the explosions were heard from off camera, i'd say it was unrelated.

oh sweet now the marines and the cav are calling in air strikes at the same time! we might have dual airstrikes!

There are a LOT of people in the world who think that. Does CNN not report about the millions of people around the world protesting and their views? Whether it's really about oil or not is unknown, but those millions of people are news; that's why the CBC is reporting on them. CNN is cheerleading, not reporting.

Actually, Fox News is dissing this event and making fun of it. The cameras were focused on this one *small* event that was just a regular part of the process.

I guess that's what you get for not watching CNN. Half the afternoon were about the protesters. I just think that's an old and tired whine, that's not news to me anymore.

I do watch CNN, but not JUST CNN. Why were you rolling your eyes at the CBC for reporting about the protesters when CNN does it as well?

Because that's been on all day. Now there's real current events that are worth watching.

This girl I know gets it on starchoice sattelite. CBC also patches some BBC reports, so I watch those when I'm not at her house.

I'm on Bell Expressvu and even though I didn't subscribe to the news package, they added a whole bunch of news channels for me since the war started. I'm not complaining.

just so you know, there is a locked thread detailing how to get a nice 350kbps netcast of BBC World as it is shown in holland. something about changing your proxy to some .nl open-proxy-server and then it works. quality is slightly inferior to my TV tuner, but still very very watchable.

i've been watching it for the past 1.5 hours. its 1000x better than crap-ass CBC. CBC has like no correspondents in the places that matter right now, its all just Peter Mansbridge acting like a know-it-all and quizzing old canadian generals who havent seen any action since korea.

also worth watching if you've become a War Media Junkie like me, is that .de proxy which is rebroadcasting a video stream of Al-Jazeera... #1 news channel among rich oil sheiks and suicide bombers worldwide!
