Why does everyone think that these airsoft guns will penetrate walls and break bones and such???

These are just lightweight plastic balls, sure it will sting and maybe leave a welt on bare flesh, but who would play that way???

BTW for those who want to insure that play is fair... Airsoft Atlanta carries paint pellets. They cost about $8 for 200 so they are not as cheap as the plastic ones. Or paintballs for that matter.

I used to have an airsoft gun at school. Had a little too much fun with it. Then one day like an idiot I left it on my desk, and went to class. The cops walked by my open window as it was lying there, and nearly crapped their pants.

Good thing I wasnt there, because after I got nearly arrested they told me had I been in the room at the time I would have had guns pointed at my face. They just look at little too real.

I have two of these, and one of these. The first are KWC gas blowback desert eagles, and the second is an H&K G3 SG/1 fully auto sniper rifle. I have it upgraded to about 450 fps, plus a scope, and I always use at least .25 gram BBs, otherwise my accuracy is shot to hell. If you guys get going outside on some farm or maybe on a paintball field or something, you will be wishing you had an electric gun, none of that pump action, spring-loaded garbage. I carry two semi-auto pistols plus the sniper when I play, in full camouflage, with only a pair of saftey glasses I got at Home Depot. I figure if I am dumb enough to be in the way of someone shooting me I deserve to have a welt on my face for a little while. Besides, the BBs don't hurt at all, I can hardly even feel when I get hit.

I love playing airsoft - we played for about five hours on Saturday afternoon with some guys that have been playing for about five years each. I thought I was serious about this game, but I don't even come close. They have a whole team, six guys who know each others' battle tactics, they sounds of their guns, everything you need to know to be almost invincible. I was humbled. If anyone wants more info, you should head over the the forums at www.airsoftzone.om and ask a few questions.

We play one hit, one kill. You get hit anywhere, you go back to the base and wait for the next game. There are scenarios that we play sometimes where there is a medic that can go around and "heal" a wounded soldier by tying a white rag around his arm, then if he gets hit again he's out for good. That's fun too, since one of the main goals is to kill the other team's medic.... :D

Probably depends on what you agree on. I don't know if there are any official ones but the ones I used to play with my friends in Japan was that if you got hit, you had to walk back to the starting area, wait 3min, then you could go back in.

That is one way to play, for sure. There are so many different scenarios you can play in airsoft. This one sounds like it was designed more for an "every man for himself" scenario. Like a big game of n64 bond license to kill, first one to ten wins....

The most fun game I played was when we played in a empty office building. semi-auto pistols or light submachine guns only, kinda like playing cops and robbers. One of the guys in the group had access and was able to get us permission to play, as long as we cleaned up the majority of the pellets. I think we ended up spending more time cleaning than playing though.

I would love to be able to play in a building, but to do so legally it costs a lot of money. The insurance rates are ridiculous. The insurance runs the same as a paintball field - if it's outside then the cost for insurance is $250 a year, but inside it goes to $750 a month....This is really just so it would be legal, and people who own the buildings tend to like making it legal, even if it costs a lot. That's why the places that hold indoor airsoft skirmishes chage like 13 bucks an hour for rental of the place, which isn't any cheaper than paintball.

umm.. how close were you all.. i've shot myself in the leg and it stings, but sheesh, you make it sound really bad. You take the cheap $50 mp5 and that thing will hurt at close range :p

If you play responsibly, no one should ever get hurt, but it does sometimes happen. My roommate was showing his mk23 socom to someone once, turned his back to the guy, and the guy pointed the gun at the middle of my roomie's back and pulled the trigger, thinking it wasn't loaded, just wanting the feel of the trigger pull.....he said it stung like hell, but he got over it. If you ever sneak up close enough to someone where you're shooting from just a few feet, you ask them to surrender instead of being shot. Anyone with half a brain will surender instead of trying to get into a firefight from within a few feet.

Like I said, we were basically on top of each other, since we were playing inside a 10'x14' dorm room. And since the FPS generated by the SPAS-12 that one of my oppenents had is comparable (though less :D ) then that of the MP5, it will be payback time :)

The SPAS-12 is supposed to be able to shoot a .12g pellet at 300fps. As my buddy who owns the thing isnt in right now, I cant tell you if it will penetrate or not. I suspect not with a .12g pellet, though it might with a .20g pellet.

Is that MP5 the same as the one I'm getting, or is it a gas or AEG?
