Had a few thoughts on plane srcurity due to terriosts, what do you think?
First armor the cockpit sure, but... also install hidden security cameras thruout the passenger areas viewed inside cockpit,make these tape backup too. Also install (which im sure the government has) fast acting "gas" that fills all the plane except cockpit that will "knock out" everyone else on board for say minutes, but doesnt cause any lasting effects on anyone, have this all monitored and accessable only from the cockpit, so when in the cockpit they see something wrong back there, instantly all are knocked out long enough for the cockpit guys to go back, have the system disable any passenger oxygen masks at same time as well.they then can access the situation, remove guns, knives,whatever, handcuff in place,etc any offending passenger. Also have the flight girls carry a small transmitter that they can easily press a button on to alert the cockpit crew of a problem as well.
Sure its drastic, but better than what can,may,and did happen last 9-11.
Anyone wanna pic this idea apart? add to it?

Won't work. Something like that would kill my mom. When she goes to the dentist they can't even give her anything except just a mild pain killer.

Another vote for not using gas here. The terrorists would find easy ways around this (probably gas masks) and would use it against the plane.

That is the first thing I thought when I read about the gas idea. Being in the medical field and knowing what could happen, that would never be used. People could die from a number of causes related to gas.

Airlines will never use anything that they could be liable for in a lawsuit, sad fact but true, no matter how good the idea.

Nothing will approach the effect of arming the pilots.

Locking or barring the doors is a joke, the crew must use the bathroom sometime!

Non lethal force in the form of Tazers or Stun Guns is unbelievably stupid. They don't work!

So called 'Sky Marshalls?' For one to be on every flight would require the manpower equivalent to the Marine Corp! Not an option.

Gas would kill more than it would protect.

If someone wants to hijack a plane, it's going to happen! No reasonable measure will prevent it. What happens in the aircraft AFTER the terrorist is identified will determine the fate of it's crew and passengers.

Educate the crew and arm the cockpit crew.

No matter the situation, YOU are your last defense! No amount of Government Spending will ever change this.

wouldnt someone taking a gas mask aboard a plane look a bit suspicious at the xray and check? sure they would have to modify there way of doing things, and for gas, well any person who is known to not be able to cope with it, isuue personal mask/filter to them,seat them all together,as for liability, well im sorry but the way i see it, make each person sign away any right to liability due to this, i mean after all, you are the one taking the risk in flying, you know there are lots of reasons a plane can crash and kill you anyway,and besides that, i for one would sign it, i would gladly do that to prevent a takeover, a crash of the plane like in Pa. or worse, let as many people be killed as there was at the WTC just because i as a individual might be killed in someway.The law suits gripe my rear anyway, we as a people live for the day to sue someone even for trivial matters.Maybe if the terriosts wasnt laughing at us as a people, or should i say scared lambs, and knew anytime they got on a plane, everyone there would do anything they could to stop them, even die trying, maybe they would rethink using a plane,yes i know some people would, but how few and far between are they. Seems to me they died already in Pa. saving god only knows how many innocents on the ground. Yeah this is a rant,but thats what this place is for right? just venting...
