Looks like they were friendly Christian hijackers instead (no weapons, no bombs, no threats of violence...they just wanted political asylum and the Pope was "a friend".) One can easily make a comparison between modern Christian hijackers and modern Muslim hijackers, but I won't go there.

Well, it is easy to say that it was religiously motivated or not religiously motivated at all. I think it depends on each case. Lets not generalzie.

If they had tried that sh!t on a US airline, about a dozen passengers would kick their asses.

If they were unarmed on a US Flight, the Air Marshalls would have taken care of them and then the hijackers would have sued later for mistreatment.

I would almost love for some douche to stand up with his cohorts and some box cutters and threaten to take over a plane. I think after any military guys had their crack you'd still have a plane full of people more than willing to beat them down.
