after all is said and done.. .and all the fine print read on other sites... expedia.com is just about the lowest for prices. I have been using them for years and have nothing but good experiences with them.

orbitz is good as well as priceline. hotwire is another one. My wife's cousin works for a major airline and is able to get us cheap ass tickets. We're talking cross country for ~$110.
 
go directly to the airline website once you know which flight you want to take, they are usually slightly cheaper or same price as other 3rd party companies with less restrictions.
 
I seem to get the best prices directly from the airlines these days.

If I was booking a package deal, I would probably end up using a travel site...
 
United. I always fly with them for business, so I've made a habit of flying with them for leisure as well. The prices are low, and all of the frequent flyer miles add up. 25,000 miles flown this year.
 
use orbitz + expedia to compare major carriers, then go to their website for fares $5 cheaper.

also go to flyi, southwest, jet blue, air tran to compare as well.

exactly. Some of them are even 10-15 dollars cheaper.
 
I try all the major websites and compare. Expedia, travelocity, orbitz, southwest (sometimes they have nice internet only specials).

sidestep.com

sidestep is a search engine, that does a search on expedia, airline websites and many online sites.
I use it so i dont have to goto each and every site.

I've never found a lower price on expedia, than i can get it for going directly to the airline's site.
