Nah, no one wants to go to Ohio. It's only hot if you live in Ohio, because we're all trying to get the hell out.

I'll second that emotion!

Hell yeah, I hate this pit. Columbus is only an hour for me, so I may use this someday if I need to get out for a weekend or something.

They do fly to Daytona Beach, which is only an hour from the Orlando parks. If you got a good deal on a rental car this could be a cheap vacation to Disney or Universal.

I've flown Skybus three times now for round trip flights. The $10 fares are pretty hard to come by, unless you're planning your trip months ahead of time.

As far as I know, all of the planes on these routes are brand new. I've flown to San Diego twice in the past month, including the very first flight Skybus made out there. The nice thing is that these flights are nonstop - really the only one that I've been able to find between Columbus and San Diego. I paid between $100-$150 each way for the flights, booking about 10 days ahead of time in both cases. I had the flexibility to choose the cheapest flights by day, so if your schedule doesn't allow that you may pay a bit more. However, it was still cheaper than Southwest, and more importantly there was no connection. This cut the time from takeoff to landing from around 8 hours for Southwest to about 4 1/2 with Skybus.

They push the food and merch a bit hard on the flights, but nothing near the point of annoying to me. Overall, flying with Skybus provided no more of a headache than flying with any of the other budget carriers that I've dealt with, and I'd fly them again in the future without hesitation.

As far as going to Columbus as a destination, well, there is actually a strong fine arts scene that has emerged there over the past decade, along with some better than expected dining. No, it's not New York or LA, but culture does exist between the coasts.

damn, no flights from houston (grandparents live in columbus)

looks like they do it the same way european low cost carriers do, nickel and dime you for everything. want a blanket? that's 5 bucks. want something to eat? that'll be 10 bucks. want to get a decent seat? that's 10 bucks. want to check a bag? $5.

what do they fly? A320s i'm guessing. they say full size planes otherwise i'd think embraers.

edit: they sell ad space inside and outside of the planes. "this seat brought to you by charmin"

edit2: no jetways at c-bus, i've flown low cost asian carriers like that.

edit3: flight staff is on commission to sell food and pilots start at half of industry average? i wonder if that means they're half as good?

they fly A319s.
