My dad was on the RC (and the B-52) for most of his Air Force career, much of which was from Offutt.Originally posted by: KK
I had orders to go to Offutt to be part of the flight crew on one of those RC135, but got out of the AF early to take this job I have now. That was 8 years ago. Part of me wished I would have taken those orders.

Did he have any good stories from being on them? Like having missiles shot at them.

Damn...B-19. My bad.
There was a B-52 on the ground, but it was so big I couldn't possibly get the thing in frame with my lens. I didn't want to swap it out with a wider angle one.
They had some A-10's on display. I was hoping they were going to fly one or two of those...no dice though.
A friend and I though it would have been awsome if they put some old junkyard cars out and ripped them apart with the Warthogs.
Didn't happen

I'm just glad I finally had a really good opportunity to stretch the legs of an $800 camera and a $650 lens.
I couldn't imagine trying to pull off some of those shots with my old P&S G3.

It's hard to aim an 18" lens at said hottie and not get slapped in the back of the head by my wife sitting right next to me.
