Does anyone use one of these? I have really bad allergies and need to do something about them. Most of them are to pollen, dust, and the stuff in the air. I see commercials for them. Are these the same as humidifiers? If you do have one, have you seen any relief?

Without looking them up.... (Not an expert by any means)

Look for one that has a HEPA filter, will be best for filtering microscopic particles.

I used to use one when i was little. It helped during the peak allergy seasons. But the rest of the time it didnt really make a difference. It helps if you get rid of the rug in you bedroom especially if its old. Try hard wood floors or a braided area rug.

I use one, a HEPA filter, works pretty good for allergy season. However, seems to dry up the air..... I use a humidifier in conjunction with this.

I have a Honeywell air cleaner, and it works great. I also use high efficency filters on my furnace/AC.

I've got a Honeywell hepa filter running in the bedroom and living room. I also have a cat and you should see the amount of hair that ends up in the filters.

Humidifiers add moisture to the air and are mostly used during the winter to prevent your skin from drying out. They'll also help reduce static electricity. The scary thing is if you use one of the clean mist humidifiers that work like a distiller you get to see all the junk that's in your tap water because it collects at the bottom of the unit.
