Oh God no... One of my friends works for Air Logistics, she flies these Bell 206 LongRangers down in the gulf.
I haven't been able to reach her on the phone, dear God I hope it wasn't her... No one is answering the phone right now, this is really freaky...
My prayers go out to everyone involved!

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- One person was killed and three were badly burned in a
helicopter crash Thursday at an offshore oil platform in Breton Sound off South
Louisiana, the Coast Guard said.
The crash of the Air Logistics Bell 206-L helicopter was reported about 8:45
a.m. about 20 miles northeast of Venice, which is near the southeast tip of
Louisiana.
The Coast Guard said first reports indicate the helicopter, with four people
aboard, crashed into the generator building of an oil rig then fell into the
water.
"Oil rig workers and good Samaritan boaters rescued three of the helicopter's
crew members and reported that each have severe burns," the Coast Guard said in
a news release. The fourth person was found dead on the rig.
The burn victims were taken first by air to Oschner Hospital in Harahan, then to
West Jefferson Hospital in Marrero.
Larry Sides, a spokesman for Air Logistics, said those aboard included the pilot
and three passengers. He had no names or details about the route of the flight.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration
will investigate, he said.
