I have four case fans, 2 on the front, and two on the rear of the case. Should the rear fans be blowing air into the case, and the front fans blowing air out of the case for circulation, or should they all be blowing air in/out of the case.

Thanks

Front fans should be pulling air into the case, while the back fans blow air out of the case.

cool thanks,

2 more questions:

1. is it better to have 2 fans blowing air in, and 1 fan blowing air out, or vica verca

2. I have 'modded' one fan on the side of the case (parrallel to the motherboard. Should this fan be blowing air onto the motherboard??

Thanks

Depends on where that fan sits relative to the heatsink and which way the heatsink fan is blowing.

Looking at the motherboard with the CPU in the top right, PCI slots in top left, and Ram DIMM's in the bottom right, the fan in the case is midle bottom.

The CPU fan blows ONTO the CPU (sucking air in).

Thanks!

You don't want the fan on the side of the case blowing directly on the CPU fan.I think its better to have it blowing around the Northbridge or memory slots or around the mothboard. If the Northbridge has a fan then I wouldn't recommend having it blow directly in front of ithe Northbridge or CPU.This disrupts the airflow of the other fans.Your CPU fan is blowing, towards the heatsink.Sucking is blowing away from the heatsink towards the side panel.I have an Alpha8942 heatsink and your suppose to run the fan sucking with these.Retail heatsink and fan you get with your CPU always blow towards the heatsink.
